ok, seems my name is a problem. I figure, Damien hasn't asked me to change it yet, so I don't know what the problem is. See, my name is Jack RL, and I had 3 other guys I've known with my first name. I've never slapped their parents and said, "Hey, I'm jack, change his name!" But, if it's going to be a problem for people...... I'll get it changed if I can. I'm not willing to lose my character and all I have though just because someone gets confused who 'Damien' and 'Damien Vryce' are.

i agree with you...i mean how many rahgnars are there in real life!...er bad example....but that is my real life name.....i dont see a problem with you i dunno why ppl keep pickin on ya..... i mean there are more than one person with a name...just different last name...i can understand if your name was something like "Damien_" or "Damien."...but i mean.....ppl bug pkers not little things like this.....

Raghnar, what else do y ou know about swedish culture? or do you just take there names?

now on to the topic, Damien is an elf #1447 or something:) Vryce is another person #19xxx-20xxx? now the reason why is becuase sooo many newbies pick the folowing as basis for thier names, it gets annoying...and if your name is jack, why not use that?

here the mos tpopular names that are basis for newbs, most are suckups to these players, or made new chars and lost a creative attitude:

these are the most popular ones I have seen. most are pretty hard to pick out, but the basis is thier, others are easy as only one or two, or none letters are changed...some may be added though, people are tired of the name damien, and that is why they may be pressuring a change.

I don't use my name 'Jack' because I don't really want to use it in a game. I pulled Damien Vryce from a book series. never been to illarion before so I had no idea who was on and with what names. if you are familiar with the Coldfire series of books, Damien Kilcannon Vryce is a warrior priest that takes the main stage of the books (he's not my favorite character though, too self righteous) Now, if you're "tired" of seeing the name, I'm sorry, didn't realize I was here to entertain you.

 Oh come on. What is the problem with this name? The Vryce definitely shows that he is NOT Damien, and not trying to seem like he is (the annoying ones are Damien- or Damien. or stuff like that), and it is a name that fits into the game (not like without_name or PGiscool, names I have actually seen here). So I see no problem whatsoever with this name, and as Damien doesn't seem to be offended either... well, I think the situation is quite clear.

in my time here I have seen 5elfs named damien and 2orcs.
