Malinne, Cain, LĂșthien and Alice prepare to load up into the boat hidden from the view of passerby on the east shore of Illarion. LĂșthien pushes the boat abruptly to send it afloat in the clear, shallow water.

Avoiding getting in contact with the water, Malinne loads her weapons first creating a dull clanging noise against the floor of the small row-boat, then carefully seating herself.

Alice yawns and gets on the boat immediately following Malinne. She clasps her small bag as she tries to keep her balance and places one hand on Malinne's shoulder as she carefully sets her bag at her feet.

"Can I just sit on you, Malinne?" Alice asks. Malinne shrugs.

"Alright..." is her response.

LĂșthien motions for Cain to step aboard and then gets into the boat herself. After taking a seat across from Malinne, Cain and Alice, she grabs a hold of the ores and begins to row the boat away from the shore and to the north where the ship is anchored.

Cain kindly offers to row the boat but she turns it down and continues to exert herself and focus on getting them the short distance to their destination.

Malinne watches the island pass as they flow by at a steady pace thinking about her first day on Illarion. She has trouble identifying what her feelings are now, but knows that at one point it would have sent tears streaming from her eyes.

In a shadow of a small rock, out of anyone's sight, a person in a black overcoat with a hooded head is the only man watching the boat depart. He is blending in with the rocks, so nobody, even the departing ones, can see him, and not a single soul knows about the joyful sorrow under the black clothes. No, she knows.
His grey eyes follow the boat without blinking, until it becomes a black spot, and then - vanishes out of sight.

"Farewell, friends. Good bye, Malinne. May the divine forces above and beyond protect you. Good luck."

Cain sits silently for quite a while, pondering about what is happening. It is still sinking in that his former captain, the one of which he held closest, was ill and may not make it through his last of days. He offers to row for Luthien, though she declines his offer. They sail for quite a ways, to the distant ship that would take them to Captain Gunnsteinn.

Cain shakes slightly, worried about what he might see; worried for the welfare of his captain. A tender look glazes over Cain's emerald eyes as he drifts into deep contemplation. The waves crash roughly into the side of the small rowboat as the scene of the rowing lady and her tiny crew disappear into the hazy scenery, travelling to the still, almost lifeless ship beyond the fog. As they fade from sight, one can still see Cain fingering the small charm around his neck.
