Hello everyone. My question is: What is Perspective, Essence, and Willpower when you make a character? I think Essence has something to do with magic, so when I make a magic character I always put that up. I dont get what the others are. I dont see how they would really help. With the left over skill points for a character I make, I always add it to Willpower if it is a melee fighter. Does ANYONE know what these do?

Are you sure about this ?

Its very dangerous to say "This is unused right now."

And please, dont spoil the fun of getting to now Effects on your own.

[Edit]

Basicly i am saying "Never leave anything blank, you will regret that."

Quite right darlok, you should make the stats fit the char. As they will be put to use (if they aren't already). The gm's always love keeping secrets from the players

I believe that Eccence is your magic defence

Perspective is your accuracy

And im not sure what willpower is?

It is hard to say though when something will be brought into effect. I remember when i created a character and i put points into a useless stat (i didn't read the advice and didn't know it wasn't being used) and then not too long ago they found a use for it and many of the older characters were very upset at the penelty of the loss of the ability to cast some spells.

Inteligence was always used, but back then it was only used to determine the Amount of Mana you need to cast a Spells.

All abilities are used somewhere, as some GM stated some time ago.
Just some are more obvious then others.

There is no attribute called "Perspective". Probably you mean "Perception".

The higher your perception-attribute is, the better you hear, see, smell, ...
Essence tell you how well you can stand magica or how difficult it is to hurt/kill you (by magic).
Constitution is quite analoguous to essence, but against physical influences.
Dexterity tells you how well you can do something with you hands, let's say how good your coordination of hand-movements is, e.g. to catch a ball or to carve into a piece of wood.
Agility stands for the ability of moving your body quickly, e.g. to jump over an moving obstacle.

HTH,

Martin

Well, i know essence is magic resistance. And willpower i dont think is in use yet. And I heard perspective was like this:

If Two characters go down into a demon cave, and the demon is at equal length to the both of them, then the demon will go to the character with less perspective.

THis is only what i have heard.....so i dont know for sure : )

Does it mean anything that we can not hear, see, or smell?

Your char can hear, see, smell...
Just because there is no skill named "hear, see, smell" doesn't mean you can't do it...
As I said, those attributes are just less obvious in their effects.

Mabe their making a graph or a bar that tells you if you hear, smell, feel, ect. something. or it could be how well you can identify something.

Well... Its just a thaught so dont get on my back if i said something bogus.
