A Concert - In Remembrance

This is an idea of Inioch's that I am posting now.
Due to the increasing number of people leaving Illarion, the Rangers will be putting on a concert with the theme of "Remembrance". The pieces will be preformed by whoever feels that they have a song that is fitting. If you want to preform a piece, post here naming the song you wish to preform and a brief description of how it fits with the theme. Admission will be a small fee which will be used to support the Rangers. Perhaps 25 gold, nothing much. The time is to be announced.
So far the preformers are as follows:
Inioch Hope: Gravity of Love (Enigma)
Astral: Imagine (John Lennon)
Undetermined: I Will Remember You (Sarah McLachlan)
We are hoping that someone will want to preform this piece because it is really fitting to the theme. This will be the last and possibly also the first song preformed. Thanks in advance for your support.
PS: We are giving ALOT of warning on this, dont expect the concert for at least another month.

Greetings!
Love the idea! Just one thought though - wouldn't it be good to encourage people to make own poems/songs that they'd perform on the concert instead of taking rl songs in there? Just an idea.

People can make their own songs if they wish... But I dont think that we're going to get alot of preformers using only player-created songs.

I agree if people wish to create there own songs that would be great but I think that there will not be alot of that. This way people can show they care without having to be a good composer.

If the GM's can make me a serving counter, I will be selling beers... If they can't, well then I will still serve, but not as well as I could with one...
Also every other potion...
I might make it so every player under 18500 can drink, so really new ones can't gather up their poison...

We're not going to be able to organize it that quickly. We were thinking maybe in a month, but not a week.
@Erdrick:
By the time of the concert there may be 20xxx numbers or much higher, so you might have to change the drinking age

We might need some guards of defence of some kind. The stage will be blocked off so no crazy sword swingers can get to us. We will also be waring full defence so I doubt that arrows will get to us. There is one proplem however. With this new magic system there are lots of crazy magic using PKers that could be a proplem. And also what about the guests they will not be protected.
I would like some suggestions on what to do for protection.

I am updating the performace list started by Astral at the top.
Inioch Hope: Gravity of Love (Enigma)
Astral: Imagine (John Lennon)
Ranger high council: I Will Remember You (Sarah McLachlan)
Sun long: Funeral for a Friend (Elton John)
Korwin: Melodies of Life (Emiko Shortroi ?)
whats her name??: Eyes on Me (Faye Wong)
we now have 6 songs and because we do not wante the concert to be too long we will only except one or two more maybe no more I don't know. So if you want to sing it's NOW OR NEVER.

I'm very sorry Xaveria. I did not forget your name. I did forget how to spell it however. (I had a slight fever when typing that.) I thought you might be offended if I spelled your name wrong. Sorry agian.

O gold? That's a letter, my friend

But if you meant no gold, it sounds good. But this also means that people will gather their poison so they can run around and kill people...
Don't worry, people like a little fun. If we just gave them the drinks, it wouldn't be as popular as it would if we had a little bit of gold on the counter.
Plus, the Rangers wouldn't get any profits if you sold it for nothing.
Since it is a long way away, I'll think about it, it'll be good one way or the other.

I Would like to perform at this concert.
I myself have lost many vict....eh "friends" from time to time.
Some of the songs i'd like to sing include:
Murders In The Rue Morgue ( By In Flames)
Wait And Bleed (By Slipknot)
When Angels Deserve To Die (By System Of A Down)
And Finally
I Stand Alone (By Godsmack)
If I can only sing one song that is fine.
It would still show all those I do have a heart, and yes I have a spare one for dinner tonite as well.
*grins and walks off slowly*

Remember, Horton, this festival is about Remembrance, not about Darkness.
I really don't listen to most of those people since their songs really are:
"So I say #@^! you! And a @#%# today! And... @$@!" Thats why they are bad

But if you have a song about remembering the past, or making one up yourself, feel free to go ahead. And please, you are on the Main board, talk OOC once in a while.

Andrew, with those songs, no. But if you had better songs, perhaps. Erdrick already said that is about remembrance, and this is very true. So you have to have a song that fits.

Don't even start to go into arguments about nationalities, but anywho, i think
all the performers are backstage and such. I am not sure though since
I am not really involved in organizing this that much

that is very true, i stand alone is not like the slipknot song wait and bleed, it is very differnt. and when angels deserve to die isn't a bad song either, maybe if you would just read the lyrics.
Songs of rememberance, when i listen to some of those i am reminded of what illarion use to be, not of what it has become.

The one by system of a down would be a good one to use I think. Yea, if you just read the lyrics you would understand it exactly. BTW andrew, I think the song is called Chop Suei or something like that.
