Hi all, I just saw on the server online list this characters name: Mandil Light Mage as you can see there are two words, light I would accept but Mage? is this a bad name?

The name issue is, I suppose, one of the toughest rules. You never know if the name satisfies Galdriel or not.
The name I came up with for my character was my best effort, it's been with me through many things, we became one. But now, if she finds another historical person named so, I will be excluded. Then I would run into a problem.
I bet there's 70% my name will be considered illegal.
Whatever the outcome may be, I will agree to it, however I would like to relate to everyone here that this name is not stolen without or with any intention to succeed, and rightfully belongs to me and to my past. I was born wearing it, and I will not depart from it upon death.

As far as I know, the char exists before the name rules were set up.
Nethertheless he should be renamed cause of the rules.

If I remember correctly, there was a char named "Mandil" once, and then his player created a guild named "The Light Mages" and made a new Char named "Mandil Light Mage"
This would be already hard at the edge to a rule violation (char mixing).

I suppose if he went back to the original Mandil, then put "Light Mage" as his title at the end of his original name, it would be ok.

Hi, also yes i think i did make this char before the names were set up and i would also like to say sorry for not doing this sooner. I dont realy visit the forums much so my attention didnt get caught untill i got the message "a gamemaster kicked you out of the game"(the reason i didnt try to change my name sooner was becausse i dont like bugging the GMs, and im just plain lazy[working on it] ) i had actually not been playing for a month or so and i only just decided to play again yesterday. though NOW i have decided if it is possible to rename my Char

also since i did that i had just rushed into playing Illarion and i didnt really get a feel for what Role Playing is untill quite recently. I now see that the names Light Mage are incredibly crazy names that really should be done away with. I do ry to play by the illarion rules so if it is possible just tell me what to do or who to ask so i can change these names.
