There is no haggling in an auction. That is kind of what I was referring to. I did not mean too high in normal trade, but in the auction it is a bit steep. I wasn't complaining. I would just as soon pay 18 ingots as I would 14 if it was something I wanted.

Since when is haggling exciting anyway? Most people who want to haggle do not wish to actually haggle. They want one price and only that price. Also, never anywhere in what I said did I say you could not set your own price. In fact, it is better to set your prices higher than SMACC in an auction.

SMACC does not kill competition. You can set your prices as high as you please, but there is a general guideline which is supposed to be followed. That is what SMACC is designed to do. Though, the result of setting your price too low may be harsh. I hear merchants don't appreciate people practically giving away good materials to inexperienced workers and warriors.

Cain writes an annoyed letter to those who are trying to undermine authority:

Would you shut up? By the gods you people with your annoying "Ohh the governmental powers are going to take over" slander is getting on my nerves. You're just a paranoid citizen who has nothing to do except accuse others of conspiring to enslave the town in some way. For crying out loud, I work for the SMACC organization now. ME! Those of you who know me, know that I do not just join something without thinking it through. I've never had poor intentions towards the town, nor have I ever desired to enslave anyone. I want nothing more than to make sense of all this chaos you people (you know who you are) are causing.

You scare the citizens into believing the untrue by gathering half-true facts and perpetuating them into something they aren't. All you are doing is impeding what should be done to maintain sanity and safety within the town. Do you have ANY idea how much crime we will have if we just drop the laws??? You haven't the slightest clue! I was around when we didn't have special organizations to maintain the peace! It was disgusting. People were being maimed, murdered, and manipulated! Don't even start talking to me about how WE are trying to enslave ANYONE!

Yes, you have your free will. Do as you like. Just don't cry to me when someone sells a piece of plate armour to an inexperienced warrior for 20 gold "just to be friendly." Don't cry to me when people run through the streets, blazing through the town and engulfing the buildings with flames. You think you're safe without laws, simply because you are living within the bounds of law. Without it, you would be dead.

Cain then changes the topic.

20 ingots by the way.

Fellow citizen,
Cain S. Freemont

Will ye just stop that Paul?
Yer continous, and frankly very annoying, pointless notes make it hard to find anything interesting on this wall.

I could do that yes, but by letting this auction go I will see how much people will pay for it, so the next 9 auctions will all have autowins.
