You have to create a story...from a not completed story you are sent through e-mail.
thanks

I hope I do a good enough job on it. are they really harsh on the content? and will it matter alot to my getting accepted?

i suggest the following things : use spellcheck, grammer, anything else to check it. then revise it and make sure it makes sense.

hard to read another language when the words are spelled wrong and punctuation in the wrong places. (i shouldn't be talking)

They aren't going to cancel your account because your not an authour. But do use spellcheck and things like that so you just don't look stupid.

What is important is not the spelling and grammar, though good spelling and grammar certainly helps...what is REALLY important is that what you write shows that you have a decent understanding of true RP and is looking to play illarion to RP.

aacceptance is not decided upon by the length of the text... though it will be hard to get accepted if you have just 2 sentences...
the story should show the person who reads it, that you do know what rp is... and that you know how to actually live a role...
btw. bad spelling is surely a sign that you don't want to play seriously... otherwise you would have the time to take a spell checker to correct this...
it certainly makes it harder to read the story... and if the person reading the story can't get any sense out of the story because of bad spelling/grammar it won't help if the story would be good if it had better spelling/grammar

Approximately, how long does one have to reply with the completed story once you receive it in the email?
The problem that I may run into is that sometimes I take a longer time on writings because I will constantly keep going over it and over it trying to pick out errors or make corrections, or change something so that it is more coherent. That and for the next month I’m balancing my life with a very intense math course which give about 6-7 hours of homework per day.

i doubt that there is a "deadline" for your anwser,
so take the time you need for it.
My own answer took me several weeks, but i wrote it before the Account System come into duty.
Edit:
Because some People might not understand that not everyones Motherlanguage is English, had to correct a minor Typo. Elsewise, someone would be misslead by my Words.

Maktan, "i" should be capitalized, as far as I know there are no exceptions in that rule. You also made a typo in the following parts of your post:
it
not
darlok
A new sentence begun in first and second case, therefore they should also be capitalized. Darlok is a name, so it should be capitalized too.
Furthermore I think that the structure of your first sentence is messed up. However, I don't speak this language natively so I can't be sure.

Geez...grill him why dont you

I was merely showing him, that he shouldn't be bitching about typos of other people since he speaks this language natively, unlike I and Darlok.
We on the other hand have the right to bitch about his typos because of the same fact.

I know this is off topic but I must say, I certainly wasnt expecting a question such as this to spark an argument in a completely different direction. Or if not an argument, a small conflict... In an odd way its rather amusing, maybe because it just seemed so unexpected.

I was correcting Darlok because he corrects everyone else.

What kind of content should the story have? I am not to choose the subject, right? I mean, I can be forced to write about characters that I do not feel, but then I will not do that good of a job. Is writing your character's biography an option? Anybody knows? Or maybe an episode from the past? Or should it be strictly oriented towards the characters I am already given?
Is there a time limit to write it?
What can I say, there is a hard contest here for joining in. Good I say. Prevents silly people from coming in out of boredom.

You will get a premade story, which you have to complete. The point is to show if you are able to think yourself into a character and situation which is not yours, as you will experience such situations very often once you are allowed to play. But it isn't as hard as it sounds, you don't need to write a best seller, just a little story which can be a few lines of text only (if that's all you need to come to an appropriate ending.)

Just like Adano said, you will get an unfinished story that you will have to complete urself. I am a human (though my avatar doesn't display that), but I had to complete a story on another type of character.

I got a story about a Lizard. Now I want to be a Lizard. So I'm going to have to make a new character!

Greetings
your answers arent enought to get a illarion account
Fare thee well
That is what was sent to me. I have wanted to play this game since I first heard of it. I, too, would like to know more. It seems to be a little cold to just say, "your answers aren't good enough", without a reason.
Why should it take so long to come up with an answer to the story. I thought the object of roleplaying was to act as if you were your character. Life is spontaneous, therefore, shouldn't the answer be spontaneous? You wouldn't have days or weeks to come up with an answer to everyday situations.
