Day 1.
Seth, Tired and hungery, returns to the town. He is upset that he has found nothing, but still knows that they are out there somewhere, waiting to be found.
Dear trollsbane,
I have searched the east, yet i havent found anything yet. I shall keep you posted, on what i have found. So far, no monsters.

Freo reads the messages left by seth and begins to think to himself. Unsure he will find anything, he pulls out an old piece of parchement and writes as he says the words to himself in a hushed voiced
"I doubt we will find a thing, though, for sometime I have wanted to find the animals. Perhaps I will join you, we shall see.... Where are you searching next?"
Finishing the message Freo stabs the quill he was writing with into the parchement, holding it in place, and walks into the darkness.

Actually finding something of interest to her, AShes reads the consecutive notes and replies. Grabbing a piece of the now very rare pigskin, and some coal, she scribbles..
ME looked South and East of Town today. ME looking South and West tomorrows. Me will write things me find down here.

I searched NW and found nothing.
I did not do a complete thorough search though.
I did notice some sort of magical portals or something, but they were blocked by rocks and trees and I could not get to them.
This may be a clue, I don't know.
I hope someone finds them soon, I need the thread, leather and meat.
I will try to search further North tomorrow or the next day.

I have searched almost all of this island. I have found nothing. I have a few more smaller area's to search but other than those.... The island has been thourghly searched. I have a rising suspicion that we cannot find the animals by normal means. Search if you wish. Could'nt hurt.
Signed,
Gannon

I have a gut feeling that the animals moved to another island somehow, in expectation of the weather. Animals are very good at detecting such things.

yes, but they are not very good at building boats.
They are on this island somewhere. Unless they were magically removed.

Perhaps they um all died?
Posted: Mon May 19, 2003 7:42 pm
by Hermie
Probly died in the drought.

by Rynt
Yes, but the animals vanished far before the drought began.

If the animals died there would of been some trace left, a carcass or bones. They would not all of died at the same time either, not unless something big affecting the whole island happened, and then surely someone would of noticed it happening. It's not just above ground either, the demons have gone as well. No, there is more at work here than nature.

Maybe they predicted the drought and ran away, ever think of something as simple as that?

by Damien
Quite a likely thing. But then, what about the monsters ?
Posted: Mon May 19, 2003 8:28 pm
by Rishi
That still doesn't explain how they got away..... They're hiding somewhere..... Maybe we need to make a massive hunt this saturday. With around 30 people at once.... Maybe they're just moving when we come near them making it impossible to find them.Or they're all dead.. Who knows....
Draws a nice face after seeing his suggestions ^-^

Thats what I just said.
They don't need to build boats. Flies can fly, demons can swim, skeletons can float, and zombies and spiders can go on the backs of the demons.

Hi
Why would a demon run from a draught, they are in a cave or an island most of the time!! This is not to likely.

Day 2.
I have searched the south of the town, and have found nothing. THere are no traces of any kind.
However htey disappeared, they have covered their tracks well.
WE must beg the gods to return them, as they are important in our society.
I have heard that they took them away from us, because some of our races have been using them for evil. They somehow use the animals, to "train" i heard one human say...must be magic, for i know nothing of that.
I hope that we find them soon,
~Seth.

Nay, Faramier and I searched the entire globe...we didn't find a thing, except for a suspicious island to the north that can't be reached by normal means.

Elaralith has a frighteningly knowing look...
The dear animals...are gone! There is no use to search for them...I know you will not find them...they are all dead! It is the rising heat levels...the abnormal weather patterns...may all who know make preparations for what is to come!
Elara go with you,

Cain sighs at the obvious attempt at striking fear into the people, made undoubtedly by Elaralith.
Oh spare us all the Apocalyptic drivel, Elaralith. We've simply hunted all the creatures on this island. It is a simple matter to fix really. We need to get a ship and import animals back onto the island, two of each of the previous animals which dwelled here; a male and a female. This should get the populous started again whilst allowing us to atone for our stupidity of hunting every last animal by means of lack of economy. The change in weather is called the course of Nature, Elaralith. If you were truly in tune with Nature, you would know this.
People of Troll's Bane,
Please do not listen to the words of Elaralith, for she taints your minds. I do not understand why she does this so often, but I assume it is because she lacks real emotion...

Cain,

That was the exact answer I expected from someone who knows nothing about the reality around them.
Elaralith is clearly dillusional and more often than not, self-centered. Each "goal" she sets to help us all only ultimately gives her more power... She'll control everyone if this keeps up.
Sorry to break up your little plot, Elaralith.
And by the way, I am well aware that you hate me, as you have expressed it many a time through racial slurs. I have witnesses to back it up, so do not deny it.

Paul rolls on the ground laughing for 10 minutes. He gets, up, wiping tears from his eyes, and writes:
Oh no! The animals all die off within five minutes of this heatwave starting. Logic, according to Elaralith.
Paul reads Elaralith's message again and bursts out into laughter.
