New numbers for describing attributes

I was thinking of this, this way you dont have to give out the full number of somebody and still be able to accually understand what they look like.
Ok here goes. Change the number of every player to have a code something like this: first number, gender of the character, 1male,2female:
#2 race of the character, 1 elf,2 dwarf, ect.: #3 color of their bar, 1 red,2blue , ect. : #4 age of character, (the year they joined),1 for 01,2 for 02, ect.: #5 ect. Hefty work, good for roleplay, REMEMBER its just a suggestion.

Problem would be you could have some people with the same number...

Still there is the possibility of there being people with the same number.

OOPs i forgot to mention that there would be a triple digit unique number. I think that might help. Also dont some people look the same?

For rp purposes I have thought that differing clothing colors would help. This would be an option chosen in character creation and unchageable. ((I'm all the time getting Sir Gannon and Drathe confused because I read the messages more than looking at the screen when I'm conversing!!))
Developmentally, same graphic - just painted (or tinted?), I don't *think* it would be difficult. Of course that would take time for all the character graphics to be changed to various colors, not to mention I don't know how that effects server - space, speed, etc.

Here's another idea.
What if we could click on the character to bring up stats which would include a button "Report Violations to DMs" which would effectively hide any tracking number from player/character.
If we haven't met, "Stranger - male human" or any description player inserted..."covered with a black cloak"
If we've been introduced, "Name - male human"
Either,
A - the more we speak with the character the more is revealed.
or
B- the more we learn about the character we are able to fill in fields about the characters ((to be stored on player computer))
Obviously, we are not to the point of this yet...but *shrugs* an idea none the less.

I like the last Idea of Viola, although i belive this has been already proposed.
There must be a way, to get completly rid of the whole Number-Thing.

Easy, everyone just writes a GOOD description of their character which may be viewed by for instance 'Using a person', this too has some ovbious faults but..

@ Darlok - yeah figures it has been proposed - it seems obvious
@ Caranthir - trying to combine the need for good descriptions and the need to report violators effectively.
It's a hard combination...and in time I'm sure the developers will get a good mix of the two. I have faith!!

I expect the worst, so I won't be disappointed.
What I ment was, that in order to avoid flood of descriptions arriving to the gamemasters, the most reasonable form of a descripition would be system similiar to the title '!prefix & !suffix'.
However, what would prevent people from altering their descripition all the time or erasing it completely? It would be dumb not to have the chance at all, because our characters age & change as we play them, therefor we need to change to alter their appearance from time-to-time.
One chance would of course be, that only good roleplayers are given this oppoturnity, while the rest must prove their worthness and go along with the numbers until that.

also something, when somebody "uses" you to see your description, on the person thats being check out something could say "they person across from you is checking you out" not exact wording that should be used but i think you get the idea. its so that the person being looked at knows he/she is being looked at, this would probobly make most people annoyed being looked at by a stranger.

Drathe here! Opps i mean Sir Gannon

(sorry Viola HAD to tease ya ^_^ ) ANYWAY.. What about... Other color bars? Maybe ten or twenty colors? Then let EVERYONE pick the color they want once when they log in with some kind of a function. Like "#bar color'" Then there would be a BIT more varied in colors of people. Only thing i can think of at the moment.

Drathe out! Opps Sir Gannon out

*Viola glares at Sir Gannon...or Drath..whichever he is*
That might be easier to program...Of course there I go again talking for the programmers. Pardon me! *laughs*
I'm still getting rather tired of the red dress! I'd prefer green as it matches my eyes.

Well speaking of what i know of programing ( Which is enough to guess

) it WOULD be a bit easier to do the multiple color bars than say... have different color people. Or there clothes WELL YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! Besides i like my bar being blue. It matches MY eyes
