I just might be an idiot but i am haveing lots of trouble casting spells can someone help me? thank you.

I've heard it's as easy as holding down the ALT key and selecting one or two glyphs that appear where items usually are on the screen.  Then you might have to click on a target.  Pressing F5 will give you the exact instructions.  Also, buying or killing monsters for books is good, because if you use those magic books your list of glyphs will grow.  All that being said, after a week of trying to cast magic I found out that I was a Druid..  That is, one who can put to veggies in a bottle to make a useless potion hehehe

You must buy the magic books (or druid books - reading makes you wizard/druid) in the shop.
If you push ALT now, you will get the list of runes, you know. with hold down ALT, you can select runes from it AND select a target after that. If you don't select a target, YOU are the target. When you release ALT, the spell is cast.
Every rune has a special meaning, and you must find out combinations by experimenting (combine 1 up to 32 runes). This gives you 4 billion possibilities to try out, so try only intelligent combinations.
One example yould be the flame (fire) and flying (bird) rune. It gives flying fire of course (these are the first 2 runes in the first rune column).

i have read some books and have several componants for spells but i dont know if i am a druid or not how can i tell? and also i have benn told to combine compants as well is that true?

To tell if you are a druid or mage, just hold ALT. If you see runes, you are a mage, if you see herbs, you are a druid.
