I have my username and pass correct. Is it something to do with using an MSN address? Because if so that is a problem for me right now as my usual e-mail server is down.

Stupid caps in my password. I hate that.

Normally the problem is the following:

The activation link at the email contains a point at the end. If your email program interpret this as the end of a sentence and not as part of the link then you will got the problem you have discribed.
In this case copy/paste the activation link to your browser.
