Priests with a prayer, and mages in a ritual. But for that, we need first :
a) a class system with priests
b) an "unconscious" thing
c) a kind of "afterworld" where those spirits go who have not been revived before their body has completely rotten away -> need for a "longer" and more expensive ritual from a mage or / and priest, or a quest in this afterworld to get a new body.

But for now we dont have that, so it will take 5 tries to revive anyone!  If only priests could heal, so many people would want to be priests, and mages would have a much tougher time.

Don't you think that reviving someone from the dead should be the hardest spell ever? Should that cast by everyone with almost 100% success rate? Then almost every wizard is the same. there are no greater and lesser wizards, all have the same potentials.

I agree with it, i think the reviving spell should be the hardest spell... it's something you do not do every second... it is some special ability and it should be very very hard.
Sure its not funny in a fight, because it takes much time but if cant wait go to the cross... =)

@Damien, if we had an 'afterworld' with a Quest, and people
are stubborn and constantly run off to Demons, then won't the
quest get a little boring? I mean, really boring...
I could possibly see that idea with the E-Mail system, but nowhere near now.

I'm thinking about this turning into a cloud thing being classified as "dead". If that's the case, then every character that died before knows they can get ressurected at the cross or by a priest, therefore everyone knows they're immortal and won't be afraid of death. I think in the future there should be a new "death system" where people are classified as "unconcious" or something instead. Also, this way it helps reduce hearing people everywhere saying things like "I died twice today" or "You killed me 3 times", which sounds kind of strange in roleplay where we are not actually immortal.

It should be hard, yes, but i do not think that every mage could cast it at 100% if it were the same as before.  I dont think that people go out and practice mes pen for hours, so not many people can revive that well anyways.

And now at 40% you might as well just walk to the cross, because you can get there before someone can cast a revive.

I totaly agree with Dyluck.....it just dont sounds right when people say "you killed me 3 times."...then like....what are you doing standing there talking to me.

Unconsiouse is good...because that way you can be robbed, (when that is incorperated into the game) and you are still out of the game so to speak because you are not consiouse. Also this goes to make the reson for skill loss more...how should we say.....understandable, as for the prupose of role playing, deep wounds or a blow to the head (which knocked you unconsiouse) would cause memory loss or make it hard to do things. And the mages ability to reuresct would make more sence, as to bring some one from morta wounds is easyer than from the dead.....and saying that..what if you were unconsiouse for to long...you had a chance of dieing.....hehe

So all in all I like Dylucks idea!! but you still need to be able to die.....im not shure how you would work it but if you did die, all you skills would go to nothing. (although hopefuly you wouldnt die to often :-)

no, when you die you are transported to the after realm depending on your char, where you must complete a quest to be made alive again

hmm i dont know if anyone said this already cus i am too lasy to look up to read it all but i think that something like a really good old macintosh rpg game (that old lol) it was called taskmaker and when you died you went to a firey dungeon named hell an it was like a maze with 4 possible exits in each corner meanwhile there is one devil at each one (3 are blocked off an one is open) the object is to get out by either killing the deamon And or escaping or doing an escape from dungeon an have your skills reduced...i personally think that that would be neat but i know it would be real hard to program an work up.....

thanks for lisening

The reason people are not afraid of death is because they loose nothing but skill "which can be regained.

maybe they should drop items

atleast this way they have a reason not to die.

although the way pking is now, that should way till the problem is solved.

I like damiens idea.

Priest being the only ones able to revive.. it makes sense.

It makes sense if some priests can do it with a prayer, and it is much harder for mages to try it with spells.
Long-time-dead-people (who have already moved into another realm) would have to be revived by a priest at the temple, or by a mage with a ritual that takes some more time and some necessary ritual items... and of course, the knowledge and experience.

I think the reason mages have healing spells is because priest magic isn't implemented isn't it?

Dropping items won't help much now, since few people carry around anything important to drop anyways.

People with an ice bird amulet or people who are carrying a lot of money temporarily will have a reason not to die....

A new (future) system that may be implimented for this:

-If someone dies, a mage can easily revive him/her right away.
-The longer someone is dead, the harder it is to revive.
-If someone is dead long enough only a priest would be able to revive him/her.

As I said, this would be in the future, when the priests are implemeted.

Not many people have icebird amulets or walk around carrying lots of money.
Even if people did drop items as a motivation to fear death, it's also becomes a motivation to kill people, especially if you know he has a valuable item, so I don't think the item drop will work.

Unconcious would be better, since we all know that we won't actually "die" anyways. Else people start thinking they're immortal. The memory damage would also explain the skill loss.

Yes, i agree with Dyluck about death and against the item drop.
Maybe, about the skill loss, there could be a different way to calculate it.
For example if someone dies or falls unconcious, as you like, in combat, he will loose more skill if he was the first to attack, i mean...if he started the fight.

This could be a way to have less non-sense attacks and pkillings but i'm not sure, just an idea :)

But i guess it could be a problem for those who want to just duel and maybe could die for a mistake.
