Archers of Illar

Greetings to you all.

Sometimes I think there are to many guilds in this small land of ours, there is one for almost every occupation and race.

So I open here not a guild or a school or a foundation, but a group. A collection if you will, of archers and crossbowmen of any race, male or female. Which over time, I hope will grow to a small number.
The group goes by the proud name of The Archers of Illar

I have no wish for The Achers of Illar as a name to be the biggest, the best, most respected or the strongest.
For its members will have the biggest hearts, be the best with a bow, respect each other and hold the strongest friendships.

If you wish to find out more about us please visit our humble cabin.

i might consider it, by the way, you left out throwing spears and throwing stars. i use throwing spears, much more powerful than arrows or bolts, but a lesser range too.

Drathe, I would like to join your merry band of archers etc. I am just learning the art of archery as well as the use of throwing stars. Maybe when I am capable enough you would consider my joining you.
Thank you for your time

Drathe, umm, maybe you should base your guild on more than a common weapon?

by Hermie
It is based on friendship and loyalty, not just a common weapon. And that I have respect for! I may be interested in joining, but some time after this damned war.

Drathe, I too would like to join your group. What exactly would we be doing? and, Are you trying to get money?

Ok to answer a few questions,

Base the group on more than a common weapon?
A fair point but it already is. The group is about friendship, loyalty and giving its members a feeling of belonging..a family if you will.
The reason why the Archers of Illar do not recognise throwing stars or spears as a group weapon, is because altho they are range weapons, People fight with them in a totaly difrent way to an archer. Also their range is limited to that of a bow.

What exactly would the group be doing?
As a member you will be taught how to use the bow/crossbow to the best of your ability. Battle drill, calls and the benafits, problems of group fighting will also be taught.

Friendship and fun with is tho, what we are about so games and round the fire talks are also a part.

Are we trying to get money?
The Archer of Illar are not trying to get money, there is no need to offer a dontaion. Why..quite simply we do not need a grand building to display our wealth and power. Meetings and other events are held under the sky.

Elaralith is slightly concerned...

Who or what exactly is this "Illar"? Be he some kind of god? If so, it can be assured that he holds no sway in this land of Illarion...

Elaralith - Who or what exactly is this "Illar"? Be he some kind of god? If so, it can be assured that he holds no sway in this land of Illarion

Illar is not a god, nor a person, it is a name..just like the land we live in has a name, just like you have a name. Were are archers and we live in Illarion, so...with a small amount of thinking.. Archers of Illar comes to mind. Besides if Illar was a god, or any other god for that matter. Sway depends on how many people belive.

knight - I dont like archers very much they are wusses if they have to shoot you from a distance no guts to fight me man to man

Come and find me and I'll show you what an archer is made of you sorry excuse of a Knight. I prommise not to use my bow...except maybe across your backside!
It takes skill and cunning to fight with a bow and live to tell the tale...for you it must be brute strength and a thick skull. Maybe that is why you are stupid enough to come here are spout of your mouth. All skull no brain.

I am quite interested in this group and wish of you to allow my entry. I am an archer, taking to the crossbow as fish to the sea. I assure you I have no hidden agendas and am willing to answer any questions that may be asked. I have viewed and reviewed your rules and see that they are terms which match something I am able to uphold. I sincerely hope you shall consider me a place in your association as I may offer my own services, whether it be a friend, or a comrade in combat.

Your fellow archer,
Alun Terod

This group looks to be the most promising I have seen, the members are gentle, kind and guided by a peaceful and calm leader.

I wish your group the best of luck in days to come.

I thank you good man for your kind words. I hope the group as a whole continue to be so and that we will need no luck, but make our own good fortune.

To all members of the Archers.

I wish to know days and approximate times you feel you would be able to attend a group meeting. I do not wish to know ever time and day you play. Only a rough Idea, something along the lines of, e.g tuesday - thrusday around 3-7pm.

After I have heard form all members I will try to set a date and time agreable to the majority.

You may leave your details here or on the Archers board.
