Kudos and Questions

First, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me out in recent days. I have recieved numerous gifts, helpful advice, and wonderful training.

Now that I have played in Trollsbane for several days, I completely understand the need for the application and long wait for acceptance. The game can only be as good as the players. This game is absolutely wonderful. Thanks to everyone who makes it possible!

Secondly, I still have a few questions. Most questions I try to incorporate into IC play, but these still gnaw at me.

1. Sometimes I lose all the introductions I've made when I sign in. I don't lose them everytime and I do use two different computers.

2. Sometimes I get really bad lag and have to ESC and sign back in. Is this the best way to deal with that? I'm using DSL with a firewall.

3. How much weight can I carry? If I'm carring too much, I notice I walk really slow.

4. Lastly, a silly question - Does music help plants grow faster? And how to I play more than timid notes. I've tried in front of a campfire.. There always seems to be a trick. haha.

I'm not grumbling at all!! Just curious how some of these are dealt with.

The name.dat is saved at the file folder of your char, so on your harddisk.
When you use two computers then is probably the name.dat from pc to pc different. I think thats the reason why you don´t remember at several persons, because one name file doesn´t contain the names from the other pc.
I hope you understand what i mean.

In the past i had this really bad lags too, and i use DSL too.
But since i use a router my connection is much faster and i haven´t these lags again.
What i want to say with that, it´s possible or probably that the reason isn´t a bad connection from the illarion server, but rather your computer.

Thats from person to person different, dependent from the strength of your char and her clothes.

      1. The "Names.dat" is stored on your Computer, so if you change the Computer you use, you can only see the names which are saved in the Names.dat.
Use a Floppy Disk to exchange the Files everytime you change the PC.
Or if you use a LAN simply send the files to each PC.

      2. There is never a perfect connection to the internet. I use Cable but i also lag from time to time very heavy. You have to get used to it.

      3. Do you know in RL how much wight you can carry until you tried it?

      4. No.
You can play only "timid" tunes on a Harp, if you *use* it. But just use you imagination and you will find ways to play "Melodies" or "Balads" or "Songs"
Hint: The function "#me" might be helpful.

Dont overdo "Training" , it turns into Powergaming very fast.

isnt the server in germany? i think thats why you lag so bad, i lag too sometimes and i have cable.

Yes the server runs in germany, but i do not think that´s the cause wny you lag. Perhaps one part of reasons, but not the only one.

For example; it seem so that the cpu influence the connection, i have realize the same, with a pentium illarion run faster than with amd.
Someone explained me it have to do with intricacies among direct x and amd, which doesnt insist by cpu from pentium.

Well I have 1200mhz Amd, and I never had any major problems that wouldn't have fixed themselves - If we don't mention the 'purple outlines', but thats what you get for a GeForce ;)

Illarion worked fine with my old 333mhz pentium too.

What is with those purple outlines? Its really annoying sometimes.

Anyway, you should learn to play the horn. I give lessons. :D

It's a fault of certain graphics adapters. They leave those outlines when shrinking the graphics for the smaller versions.

      @Caranthir

Yup didnt say that it is always so. But some persons told me their experince, and i had the same.

      eg.:
With an pentium 2 350 mhz Illarion run very good

      but with my

amd 2.6 ghz now i have to begin ( without router ) big trouble. And both pc´s had the same network card etc.

      ~~Dracon~~

Yes music can help a plant grow only if the music is soft and slow.

Game mechanics wise, music doesn't help plants grow faster, and you can't change the notes you play.
