well martin since you said i shouldnt do them individually i have a few ideas:
studs -made by blacksmith
studded leather armor-made by using full leather with studs by tailor
studded leather legs-tailor '' ''
throwing knifes-blacksmith
wooden knight shield-carpenter
armor piercing tips-blacksmith
piercing bolts/arrows-anyone by adding piercing tips to bolts/reg arrows.

Please, appease my curiousity, why would you need studded leather armour in the middle ages?

what a studs? And I assume studded leather armor would just be lighter then plate mail.

I'm sorry but arrows are dangerous enough.
Umm.. the wooden knight shield ? kinda makes no sense we have soo many shields. I think it would be like having all those staffs whom nobody used because they cant block.

Fooser or Salathe or some lizard uses a battle staff. I hear it is a powerful weapon. But what are studs? I like the idea of arrows.

My my, all that work for the graphics team!!!

. I, personally think we have enough armor and weapons.

work , puh, i could make all that stuff in a few hours without the base model. studded leather armor was pretty much the standard light armor in the middle ages. studs are basically rivets. meant to hold the armor together mostly but metal is far stronger than thread. good point kringin, two handed weapons will probobly have better parry in the future, if they have any now. yes well with basically no parry on a bow you need power.
also a propasal i forgot to mention.
throwing spears should knock you back a square, say randomly, 1 out of 5, this does not improve with skill. also, the reason for a wooden knight shield is its more realistic. i know from experience a light wooden shield is fairly heavy, let alone a thick metal one.

I think that is a good idea for the throwing spears, and please Roke, let the graphics team say how much work it is, not their spokesperson.

There are more than enouth Weapons and Armor in Illarion right now.
(I belive there are much more hidden in the Graficlibrary)
Before adding some new , the existing ones need much more balancing.
The same counts for the present Combat-System.
I dont realy think this proposal is good right now.

i do relize there are unused graphics and items available but if we dont know what those are we cannot know what to and not to propose.

Please, if your not going to contribute, don't write. Don't write things like "we don't need this now" and "this could be a lot of work for the graphics team". I would much appreciate it.
But i was going to say, why is there only a 1 in 5 chance of you being pushed backwards? I can't tell you this from experience,

but i am sure there is a lot of force being pushed into you. It would make more sense with a 4 in 5 chance.

I really don't think adding new weapons is nessessary, like said above the items in the game already need to be balanced better. I bet about 90% of illarionites use a firesword. Why? Because it is the best. The other weapons need to be balanced better so that it creates diversity. Make the firesword have some disadvantages, make something else stronger yet slower.

thanks paul. but if they doge it or you hit them in the foot, hand, arm, ect wont necessarily knock you back, and some ppl would take advantage of it even though they dont used ranged weapons.thats why the 1/5 thing. i suppose the chances could be raised to at highest 4/5 chance. that way people would not abuse it.
Also i propose battle graphics because it just doesnt seem right that someone can hit you without knowing whom, this is probobly planned for the future hopefully. i was thinking just a basic animation depending on you race, not weapon. like even if a human used a bow, it would still show him swinging his sword, or an elf using a war hammer, it shows him shooting his bow. i just would like to be able to know who was shooting me point blank know what i mean?

That is a grand idea! I support it wholeheartedly. Both your ideas, in fact.

I like the idea of knockback, but don't think we need more weapons/armor now.
@Paul: I dont think we need this right now is feedback.

yes maybe not weapons, but, i like the studded armors. feedback but not exactly encouraging feedback. havent you ever heard the saying, not sure how old it is "if you have nothing good to say dont say anything at all" i find this nice but not always the best rule to follow in some situations.

If a few players are saying that something is very important for them to have, it is good for other players to give another side to it. It's called positive criticism.

Some weeks ago, there was a german thread about the visualization for the taking of weapons in your hands and for the using of dictance weapons.
http://www.illarion.org/community/forum ... php?t=4922
Therein, we discussed, that a simple version of visualization would be enough.
For example, the F12 function can be expanded, so that through handling of weapons, there could be a special letter before or behind the name/number of the char. Thus, everyone who wants to observe other chars, can see who has a weapon or not. But it wouldn`t be a generall visualiszation for all, an attack from the ambush would be possible too (if the victim doesn`t observe).
The colored lines (blue, red, yellow...) could be used too, but their function would need a temporary limit such like the F12 function too.
Maybe it still need a dependence of distance between the person who observes and them who has weapons in their hands.
In the same thread and in others too, there are some ideas for the visualization of distance weapons too.
For example, if a sniper (it isn`t the same like NON-RP-PK) aims at his target (Press STRG an select your victim), all chars in the near of the sniper could read a sentence like "Char XYZ takes his bow and aims (at ABC)", such like the information of the using of casts and spells in your enviroment. But the little cloud of failed casting spells could be used too.
Otherwise i agree with others. A rebalanching of implemented weapons and a good combat-system is more important than new weapons.
@Paul
paul laffing wrote:That is a grand idea! I support it wholeheartedly. Both your ideas, in fact.
This is senseless and useless too. It`s only 1 sentence without new contents to this discussion. I thought you wrote some thing like "Don`t write if you only want to say "
i m against it." But your last post only is a counterpart of that
But, to say "this could be a lot of work for the graphics team" is very important. It has to be implemented in all new proposals. The grahics team and the programmer will have the work with our ideas. Thus it`s important to say it, because maybe anyone can find a more simply version.

@lennier I was showing my support. It is different from saying you are against it and not saying why. Also, who are you to say that it is a lot of work for the graphics team if you are not on the graphics team? Thats the point i was trying to stress.
@Thereadore "I don't think we need this right now" is not feedback. It is not up to you to implement this. And don't just say that, support why you don't think we need it right now with details.
Now, back to the topic.

I feel you should be able to see which direction an attack is coming from. That way, you can still have snipers, and know who is attacking you generally.

good idea, you could make the little blood thing appear on a different corner depending on who is attacking you maybe? and if your atatcked from all sides there are a bunch of little blood thingys.

The idea of the arrows and bolts are cool. But, i dont like the wooden knight shield. And..the studded stuff...not all that crazy about....
