"You" are to stupid........ for this spell.

Heh, I understand how this could make some angry. I've known several people that felt angry when finding out that they were "stupid".

Basically, you cannot do anything about this. Your intelligence is too low. Someone once told me that if you read books, you could become smarter. Eventually, your intelligence would go up. I don't know if this is true or not, and I really don't care. I don't enjoy reading in the library much.

You don't need to see it as being "stupid". You just have not enough talent for magics. At least that is how I keep it with my char. He is from a land far away and his accent makes it hard for him to pronounce the words correctly. Also, rune magics are unknown there so he is lacking some basic experiences with runes.

I don't know for sure on who you were speaking to. If you were speaking to me, then that is what I ment by "stupid". If I really ment that someone were stupid, I would simply put in stupid. This is what I ment...

I've known several people that felt angry when finding out that they were "stupid".

However this "talent" develope on the intelligenze of chars.
It´s possible to say your char isn´t talented enough for magic, but we are here at a OCC board and fact is that the power of magic/ spells you are able to cast concern on the "attitude" intelligenze.

And so i can say your char is too stupid, not talented enough is a ingame explanation.

Yes, I just pointed that out because Randelf said that people would become angry when they find out their char was to "stupid" to do a certain spell.

My friend's char cant even do xxxxxx! Do you all think its fair that you cant cast any spells even if you intel is at 3 or 4. They should be able to at least summon food, or some other little trick.

If everybody , no matter how "dumb" he is could summon food, why should we have backers than?
Druids can make Foodpotions and every Mage could summon his own food.

The only "all aviable" spell might be "Small Fireball", but thats not realy nessecary.

Ok, i heard that when you set your attributes when making your character you are setting your maxium not what you start out with right. My intelligentce is around 16 or so. If i get better at magic then i might be able to use that spell, right?

simple answer as far as I have experienced and know...

No

No, because you can´t raise your intelligenze, but a higher "iq" is nessecary for this spell.
In the past we spoke often about this, because people said its not fair that you cant learn "high" spells, although you practiced it often.

Intelligenze is a "value" given you from birth, always the same, you can only train to handle it.
But sometimes that isn´t enough too, like by this spell.

P.S.: People with a low intelligenze can become druid, when they decide to be a magican and realize later that they are to "stupid", then it is there fault. Before i do something, i inform me.

so you can't get higher intelligence even if you read a ton in the library? It would be fun to be able to use a few spells..

After visiting the library for awhile, I've noticed many people who are attempting to try that Bumbol. So far, it doesn't seem like this plan is working.

I don't think so. Even though some spells are really simple they are still spells. In order to use spells you need a high intel. No matter how simple the spell may seem. Someone with intel. 3 or 4 can hardly even speak plainly, and probably can't read or write, so how could they do something as complicated as spells.

but my intel is 3 or 4 and I can read from the library easily.
