Greetings Shinviroz,
I hope you like this game, I know I do. I just wanted to let you know that you can search for me if you need help with something. This game can be really hard on you at times but I am sure that if we learn things with each other we can at least try to make it better.

Welcome Shinviroz. I think you're going to get a bit of a culture shock coming from Everquest. If Role Playing is top of the list of what you want from a game Illarion is a good place to be.

@James: Do you have an account to play, or do you just read the boards and post how bad this community is? At least this is the impression I got today when reading the newest postings.

yes bror i do have an account and have done for some time so this is not me just being sore about not getting a account.
i just feel that a number of the people here are ostentatious and the atitude of a number of people here frankly frustrates me i was not intending on criticising the game or the numbers of welcoming and helpful individuals amongst this community.

@James
I know how you feel, I feel the same way at times, but try to understand that everyone is from different countries and backgrounds. People in Germany seem to have a different style of humor than people in England or people in America.

Just to clear that: I am NOT from germany.
In fact I do not like german humor whereas I am a declared Monty-Python-fan.

cant beat monty python:)
it wasnt the lack of humour in particular it was just the atitude of a number of the players that i didnt like and how somepeople are treated.

The problem is just that some people just got sick of certain things, and eventually their anger erupts when they appear again. And also they fear that Illarion could degenerate into a playground for little children (mentally, not physically). There are a number of lesser quality roleplayers who appeared during the last months. Some of them cause a lot of trouble, while othes just make themselves a name with quite chaotic RP. Naturally the older players try to defend "their" game from people who lack understanding, maturity, or just knowledge and it happens that also people get hit who really want to get along with what Illarion stands for. On one side the older players need to calm down and understand that someone might ask a question because of really innocent reasons. On the other side some people need to understand that something is wrong with their roleplay and show the will to learn.

Crocket i thought you left? Any way back on subject, think of role-play as a second life. You can just be of almost any origon and be the person you always wanted to be.
welcome
