Err.. why was the test board locked? Normally I would put this kind of question IN the test board... but obviously.. well, yeah... Anyone have an answer?

We were horribly misusing it. Or so I believe.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, though there really isnt too much point to it anyway and they DO clear it out once a week...

I think the comunnity should have a forum were it´s able to talk totally off topic. The urge seems to be here, and at least that would prevent much spam off the real important boards. And a Test forum wich is getting deleted every 2-3 days isn´t a solution.

sounds like off topic posts would belong here... as long as it does not fit any of the other boards... so why should there be any need for a separate board?

I think people don't post much of that stuff on the Main board because it says the board is for something that is related to Illarion, but doesn't fit anywhere else. Most of the thigns people were talking about had to do with things that had nothing to do with Illarion.

I think that this forum should be reserved for illarion-related thoughts, as they sort of get lost when there are so much unrelated material here. It is pointless to try to prevent the community from discussing things that are not related to Illarion, so we should have a board devoted to it. Why? Because people like to know something out-of-game about the people they have been interacting with online. As long as it doesn't flow into the game, I see no problem with it.

Maybe there´s a need to talk about things that don´t fit to Illarion? What if I want to tell the Illarion community about the newest virus warning? That isn´t related with Illarion at all, but may concern all players that had email contact with me. Or the discussion about fitting music...

I think a new forum for off topic things would be fine... Or another definition of the General Board.

I don't think that a new definition of the General Board will do much good, there is actually a lot of Illarion-related material here. Just take a look, and you will find that most of the topics ARE related to Illarion. An off-topic forum would be too busy with posting to allow for people to read the on-topic material contained within...

Allright. I´ll take everything back I´ve ever proposed about an off topic forum.

The cause why I wrote that at all were the topics on the test board like "What is your favourite book?" or "Wich cheese do you prefer?"
Is this really fitting in the general board? If so, I´m glad...

If not,..

i dont like the general board one bit =P we need a off topic board, and a general fun board where we can play games with eachother and stuff =)

I have always liked your idea of an off-topic forum, which is why I think it would be the best thing to do, rather than convert the General Board. I'm sorry if my posts were a bit misleading, but I do support your idea.
