There are excerpts on the town walls, from a book that was written by Bloodhearte. According to the top of the pages, the title of the text is The Definition of Evil. The handwriting is small, yet slightly neat.

There have been misconceptions about my 'cult' left and right. Countless times, my members and I were attacked. According to the observations of the townspeople, we are murderers...pyromaniacs, relentless butchers, thieves, crude, stupid, thugs...every unfortunate label that the common man can think of. All of these misconceptions have rooted from one powerful, yet dangerous word we have used to describe ourselves; evil.

Philisophically, there is no such thing as 'good' or 'evil.' 'Darkness' or 'light.' These are very biased, very opinionated. This is the foundation on my cult of the Blackstone. 'Evil' is just a term we use to describe the fact that our leftist, odd views vary widely from the majority. They call themselves 'good,' so we mock this majority view and call ourselves 'evil.' There have been consequences for this mockery, granted, but we still continue it for the sake of our satisfaction. The books on Dark Doorways in the library were my prime inspiration for beginning this 'dark' group.

Our goals, as mentioned before, were to awaken Moshran and possibly other misunderstood gods...to release them into this realm. Why? Because we can expand our knowledge...we can gain the ability to awaken the supernatural, play with the concepts of life and death. But, ultimately, complete the goal that every being has been trying to reach since the beginning of time; reach godhood. EVERY action we take is for the sake of saving ourselves, so we can get closer to being on the level of gods. For example, there are no such things as 'needs.' A 'need' is just a major want supported by more 'wants.' If you 'need' to eat to live, it's only because you 'want' to live.

We have been called weak, simply because we do a lot more running than fighting; out of foolish frustration, we are then called 'cowards.' Knowledge overrides physical power. Has it occurred to anybody who has opposed us for no apparent reason that, perhaps, there is a special art to escaping?

Expansion of our minds is more important than life...we are strong believers of this. Therefore, death in vain is ridiculous. The label of 'evil' is viewed by most as things that they don't approve of. Bringing Moshran into this realm will bring demons along with him, but how do we know that the demons will kill us? When humans came after elves, did the humans slay the elves? No. All races, especially a race of demons, have the intelligence to live with one another. Historically, demons are bad creatures. What is a genie? An Arabic demon that grants wishes to his master. We musn't stereotype these demons.

Sacrifices are good, when needed in rituals. For me, they have been proven to fuel magical fires that can reach up to Moshran, for the possibility of better communication.

My cult and I are also strong believers in the fact that every being is responsible for his or her own path or decisions. I'm only collecting my information based on tales and books. TRUE history, however, may have been thrashed to oblivion due to the atrocities of my ancestors. Therefore, gods may not even exist. This would be a reasonable argument as well, because it isn't easy living in a world full of views that oppose yours. Both sides of 'good' and 'evil' gods were made to satisfy everbody, so we can come to grips with our existance...namely, our reason for existing. So perhaps, gods didn't create living beings...but rather, sentient beings created gods.

This whole operation is a big experiment. I apologize to the people of Trollsbane who think this cult is only existant to cause suffering and needless hatred. These were just rumors because we are actually evil. I also apologize to the people of the island who fell victim to any senseless violence my servants or followers have created. My cult is known as 'weak' just because we don't fight. 'Evil' and 'peaceful' seem to be two words that people don't want to see mixed...

Here are rules for my followers that MUST be obeyed:
1.) Think about the dark path, don't follow it just because you see suffering as favorable.
2.) Senseless killing or violence is prohibited; although, sacrifices are allowed for ritual purposes.
3.) If there's anything I dislike, it's random fire throwers. I use the flames to block people from interrupting me, or to perform rituals. Unfortunatley, there are certain members who throw flames for the sake of angering somebody. It doesn't accomplish nothing, just justification for your stupidity.
4.) Study; hours of library study are necessary for sharpening ones mind.
5.) Only fight when you must of if you feel a sense of justice needs to be fulfilled. If you can outrun an angry mob, do it.
6.) Show manners...we are NOT to be taken as regular thugs seeking attention.
7.) During rituals, do NOT sacrifice and use the blood of somebody that is biased toward the direction of other gods or goddesses! As I have found out, the blood during this sacrifice turns to blessed water, which is very harmful to our kind. Sacrifices must be limited to sheep, pigs, and godless beings; just for our own safety.

With these rules in mind, I wish you all luck in following me while following the dark path!

Cain Freemont steps into the light to read the message on the town wall. After reading what he thought was sufficient, he writes in response,

"To the Honourable Fortinbris Bloodhearte,

I am surprised that you are so brave as to stand by the philosophy of 'good and evil.' It intrigues me that one stands by such a risque topic in these times. I commend you in what you do, as it is both brave and unique, but also I seek to warn you. The folk of this town seem to all believe the theory that there is no 'middle ground' between the so-called 'good and evil.' One that cannot be labelled as good, is quickly labelled as evil in this land. This, I am sure, you know by now due to the recent happenings. There is an old Drow saying, 'Natha nesst vel'uss gos qua'laen l' tresk'ri, ragaren streea. Nindyn vel'uss mora llentol, dro verve dron.' Translated, it means, 'A man who goes against the world, finds death. Those who act in silence live long lives.'

Please keep in mind that I have no desire to associate myself with the Blackstone Cult, so do not attempt to request my allegiance. I keep myself neutral to all in these days, as I have no reason to support anyone, any longer. Just keep in mind that many will try to impede your work and endanger your life. I look forward to seeing what will happen in the future, as I am sure you have intriguing motives. Good day to you, Sir Bloodhearte.

Cain Freemont signs his name, pins up the message, and wanders off into the shadows again, watching the world from an exterior view.

Cain, I have been meaning to ask you... What has happened to you? Why do you always seem so distant from everyone, why do you always seem to avoid light? You do not seem like the same, happy and social Cain that I met... Has something happened? What was it I missed? Even thought you are still someone I will gladly call a friend, I would like to see the old Cain Freemont again...

So many people are changing.

Malinne nervously rereads the last rule of Bloodhearte's cult involving the regulation of sacrifices for evil purposes.

Wait a minute, I hope you can make my soul an exception as I am a godless being... I don't want to be sacrificed!

Many a thing is happening, Malinne. I fear that the Cain Freemont you once knew may never fully return, though it is highly possible he may recover mostly. A great piece has been torn from my soul, one so large it makes living difficult. I have taken to the shadows to silently watch the world, to see a sign of a happier future. By withdrawing myself from society, I vanish, and become a nameless person, looking into the window of life. I can see the changes more clearly, understand the world from a different perspective, one of more intellect. My reason for removing myself from society is not one I wish to speak of publicly. If you wish to know, I would prefer to discuss it more privately.

I wish that I could give you the same Cain Freemont, but I do not believe it will fully happen. Heh, you should not concern yourself with me. Just keep your health at its best. I am searching for a cure as we speak. You shall always be a friend to me, Malinne. I hope that I do not drop too far off the world to not be your friend further.

But Malinne, we would never sacrifice you. You have never wronged us, and you have proven to be an openminded one. We like to plan our sacrifices rather than making them random.

As for Sir Freemont, I'm rather honored to be recognized by somebody of your stature. I find it amazing that you have chosen your own path to follow, and I will make a strong attempt to heed your warnings of others. It's unfortunate that there is only a few with your mind that roam these uncertain lands.

After the final sentence, Bloodhearte runs out of ink. He disappears in a cloud of smoke after collecting the remainder of his supplies.

Calling yourself "evil" usually isn't the best way to live a life without being chased around. Even those who really care about the peace of this town, and not just chase every "evil" out of bloodthirst, will carefully have an eye on you.
Worshipping Moshran is not the worst of all things, as he was once a faulty, but noble god before the essence of the Prince of Terror infested him.

However, you must be foolish to believe that bringing the Bone Lord into these realms would cause any good, or that you might even be able to control him. Ever since the Nameless Evil invaded the realms of the Elder Gods his armies did nothing but bring destruction over all beings. In his current state Moshran is nothing but a puppet the Evil uses to terrorize Illarion. His intentions are clear if you ever watched what his servants, Drakhen Vorkalion and Ashkatuul, king of all demons, did to our lands and people in the past. And they are even more clear for the people of the Empire of Medora, who remember how Thorian, the black demon, devastated the five kingdoms for the sake of destroying the only weapon which can keep even the worst of all evils out of this realm.

That's why we will keep you from completing your plans to summon Moshran into this world, in one way or the other.
For the sake of us all, let Elaras light shine on you and stop those plans yourself.

I also mentioned in my text earlier that Moshran just may be a misunderstood god, and just remains a scapegoat for everything that is unfavorable to the majority. There's no guarantee that death and destruction will be in our awakening.

I have read about the history of the great necromancer, but who knows? History may or may not repeat itself, assuming that it is credible history and not some childrens tale made up by a deranged being in the library.

You must understand, we're only acting on the possibility that Moshran exists. This group is much bigger than the subject of the lord of blood and bones...

You may have read about him, but I have met him, and I was witness of his attempts to gain power over the death bodies of our citizens. Everyone who looked into the face of Drakhen Vorkalion, and who heard the evil laughter of Ashkatuul, does understand their true intentions.

You can be sure that the gods exist in the way we believe them to do. They have proven that more then once. Some of us even had the luck to see the wonders they did, hear their voices, or even meet them personally.
I have deep respect for Moshran, the god who sacrificed everything to destroy Madrok Na'Han, the Prince of Terror, avatar of the Nameless Evil. And maybe, if his followers hadn't left him after he was infested with the Princs's dark soul, he would never have become what he is now. And maybe he will find back to his true self someday. But this is nothing you or I can achieve. The Bone Lords only ambitions are revenge on those who left him and to rise the influence of his master by bringing death and destruction over us all. He doesn't even care about his own servants.

Where you there, than the Lich Drakhen Vorkalion, a follower of Moshran and his servant tried to open a door to Moshrans realms.
Where you there, when he summoned up demons and attacked the town several times?
Where you there, when brave citizens had to survive and use their weapons to save their wifes and childrens and their goods against the armies of death?
Where you there, when Ashkatuul and Drakhen tried with several lyings and other tricks to gain again their power by getting the mirrors back. Promising false luck over the ones, helping them.
Ask Drathe, how it was, to be cursed by Drakhen in a mummie?
Ask Dyluck, Sabrina, Olorin and Galadria, how it was, to stand under the curse of Drakhen.
Ask my parents if you can, how it was, when he reached their trust with his lies, kidnapped me and sacrified me to Cherass and afterwards destroyed and murdered them.
Ask me, how long the way was and how painful, to draw this happenings to a good end, being devoted to Malachin alone.

Where you there, when all these cruelty happened, caused by servants of Moshran, guided by him?
I doubt, you have seen this.

And therefore, beeing a victim of all these, I and the Grey Rose can't allow you to perform such a ritual to bring back these realms.

Despite my seemingly odd ways and my dashing good looks Bloodhearte chuckles, I am quite aged...I have been around during those times, and they seem more misunderstood than unfavorable. The former necromancers intentions were unfavorable and he chose to attack the town. I believe it's dependant on the intentions a summoner has, and history...or tales, have shown us that the intentions of death and destruction were attempted to be reached because that's how they viewed the purpose of the dark realms.

((And don't judge how long I've been around simply because I have recently started posting on the boards.))

Is it really truth, what you claimed, beeing there?
This makes you more suspicious, than before.
If you really where there, when all this happened, I asked you,
what was your role in all this years ago?
Where you only a harmless victim?
Or have you helped the citizens to stay against these forces of demons and to help cursed people?
Or have you helped Drakhen in his ritual and in his bad ways?

I haven't seen you there long ago.
And therefore, it is more obviously, that you supported the dark side in these former years from the hidden. This would be one more reason to watch you and your goals more carefully than before.

Pay attention and be careful. Searching for this sort of wisdom about dark doorways is a small path, bringing harm and sorrow to many more.
Moshran is now a betrayer and don't be to sure, that he doesn't betray you and uses you, like he will, that you move.

I was an observer during those times, and took no interest in defending or offending the town considering I was still a newcomer to the island.

I'm supporting the dark forces, with neutral intentions and experimentations.

There is not much misunderstanding if a demon from the Bone Lords own guards comes to devastate the world, wielding a weapon smithed by his god himself...
The true dark path lies in destruction of everything living, directly or indirectly.

There is no such thing as a 'true' dark path. Again, it's all very opinionated. I'm just discovering an alternative.

Mr. Bloodhearte,

I'm not as certain as you are that these demons you are attempting to bring will be 'neutral'. I don't think they will forgive us for killing so many of them, which some of us continue to this day. Evidence has also shown that Moshran is angry, and bitter. I don't think it would be a good idea to bring him into this realm. Also, maybe you could re-think sacrifices.

If what you say about the misunderstood Moshran is true, I can try other or no gods. But I'll try only ONE demon, for an experiment...

I did not mean to betray you, in any way shape or form, as you seem quite the honourable chap, but I am afraid, in the process of as it were, spying on you on behalf of the so called good citizens of TrollsBane, I did so.

You seem quite just in your reasoning and so, it is with humble heart, that I shall follow your path, to learn as much as possible, perhaps even stay under your study.
