The ghost of Paul Laffing floats into the library.

Paul Laffing walks out of the library. Paul Laffing looks very pale, and his eyes are clouded and grey, whereas they used to be blue.

Paul Laffing looks down at his finger which has a glowing blackstone ring on it. Paul Laffing smirks evilly.

Paul Laffing wakes up in the shop. He wonders how he is alive, since he was just dead. He walks out of the shop, where he is brutally attacked by several people. He tries to reason with them, but in the end runs. Paul Laffing wonders why they are attacking him and what evil fate has befallen him.

Malinne has fallen into a deep sleep and dreams about the library. She dreams she sees Paul, alive...

"Paul? Is it you? Have you returned from the dead? It is not you... But... What is going on? Did he do as he said he would? Did he really have that power? Are you... Paul? Are you really Paul?"

Malinne wakes up and realizes it was a dream. She also realizes something else and exclaims as she sits up:

"Paul is alive! I must talk to him, I must hold him... I must also be very careful...

Cain Freemont peers from behind the wall of shadow he is hiding behind as a man resembling Paul Laffing is attacked.

So, Cain thinks. Paul is alive. I must investigate this matter. Could he really be alive now? Hmm. "He" has shown great power if this is true.

Cain then takes a few steps out of the shadows, glancing around to see if anyone spots him. After finding no one about, Cain wanders off to investigate the recent happenings.

Malinne, I tried to change him back to his former self, but as I said; there was no guarantee. He will be following me for the time being, and may return someday. Resurrection is a tricky business (Needless to say, it took quite some time to regenerate his ashes and disintegrate him from one point, and reintegrate him into the library). But at least he is living again.

It is not likely that he will return to his old self, is it? I know it is not, and this is what I fear... Yes, it is good that he is alive, I am glad that he gets a second chance as a youth to live. I will always miss him if he is not the same... I do have yet to see what he has become as I have not seen him yet, let alone shared conversation with him.

Thank you for your effort, Bloodhearte. I never thought I would say anything like that... I hope everything will be alright.

Paul? What are your memories?

One of the people attacking Paul steps out of the darkness, and he resembles Fooser very closely

Your are evil! (a noise of a sworf hitting armor) You better watch who you associate with, and abide by town law, which you have failed to do today, if not, I will make sure you get BURIED!

What has he done to deserve death, Fooser?

Paul looks down at a blackstone ring he has on his finger, but doesn't know where it came from. He blinks as it starts to glow, and his eyes cloud over. He becomes pale and smirks evilly.

Paul, that ring was required for the resurrection...in case you're wondering. Why? Because I delve into the powers of the blackstone, so my powers must be transfered.

Paul wakes up in the shop again, badly burned and cut. He is scared and wonders what is happening to him.

by Dunthor
Dunthor walks by the library and see's a person walking...He thinks to himself and finds out its Paul... Dunthor glances down at his new ring and see's its glowing and Dunthor Smirks.

So Paul is a member of the blackstone cult huh? Good than I will have a reason to take his head this time...You should of stayed dead.

Breaking town laws Bloodhearte, see I dont only discriminate against you and blackstone members, although Paul does look suspicious. 8)

And what town rules would those be?

Dunthor, I'm afraid you need a better reason to take someones head...being a member of my cult isn't very good criteria.

What Dunthor is doing here is trying to call himself noble, by killing someone who may or may not be a member of a group that seeks knowledge when really he is not in the least acting noble or just. At least, that is my view of it. Paul is not breaking any town rules, nor is he killing anyone. For the sake of the Gods he was just revived yesterday... He probably doesn't even remember much, if anything at all.

He lit three fires in town, and another one, except that one involved him lighting a newcommer to the island on fire!!

by Cain Freemont
So you are saying that we should behead ALL the people that cast in town?

Posted: Tue Mar 25, 2003 12:21 am
by Bloodhearte
Using that logic, Fooser the hypocrite, you should've been reduced to dust a looong time ago...

by Bumbol Woodstock
Fooser was reduced to dust yesterday by me... and Nilo... Maybe Fooser you shouldn't set fires in the tavern and one me then beat on Paul who des the same thing.

Excellent work Bumbol! Hypocrisy justified.

Why do you always open your mouth when you don't even know what happened? Your right I did cast in town, but I was punished for it, courtesy of Crosis, Bumbol and Nilo :D and your calling me a hypocrite? You contradict yourself almost everytime you talk. And Cain, if you word your statement that way, then are you implying that we do nothing about people who cast in town?

and also, is this the same Cain that I just saw strictly condemn Elaralith for casting in town? So your saying Elaralith should be publicly condemned for the same thing your defending Paul for? Hmm sounds a little stange to me. And dont say it was a different situation, well....actually it was worse, he casted fire in the shop, and outside the shop, also attacking a mere newcommer to the island who was probably confused at the time. Cain, it looks like you are setting a double standard here.

And Bumbol, I'm not denying I did anything, but I don't think that we should choose who is punished, and who is not. Thats like saying "All of you should be punished for this, but Paul...he's ok dont mind him."

And lastly, back to Bloodhearte. You are the king of contradiction. First you say that revenge should be given to me and Crosis, then you turn around and say that you will kick out members who attack people? And in the conversation we had before, you say it's your job to interfere with peoples lives, then you tell the Diamond Cult guy that your fighting should be outside of town because you don't wan't to disturb people? I don't know if your saying some of these things to improve your image, or what, but don't call anyone a hypocrite after some of the things you have said.

People change, maybe Bloodhearte wants to improve his reputation. Or he may just want to sneak up and snatch someone for a ritual sacrifice.

by Bloodhearte
Er...you casted in town, yet told me not to cast in town. Therefore you are a hypocrite. Is there something inaccurate about that? I want you to tell me how I contradict myself when I talk, because anybody has yet to do so...Fooser, when I never said I kicked out members who attacked. I said I kick out members who attack WITHOUT REASON. Read carefully, please.

I also never said 'it's my job to interfere with people.' It's my PHILOSOPHY when it comes to interefering with other PHILOSOPHIES, not lives. You have the reading comprehension of an uneducated child, and I'm not changing my stance on my opinion regarding your hypocrisy.

I never seek to 'improve my image' for the sake of just that. I just want to be understood, rather than be brutally attacked because everybody listens to anti-blackstone propaganda.

by Fooser
Reading Comprehension? I thought we were having a conversation? And there you go again, can you prove 100% that I never had a reason when I casted? At least look at the actual event before going off on your insulting some more, trying to get your shots in at me while you can. And it is not "anti blackstone propoganda". Most of the stuff people say is true. Some of your members are a little out of hand, to put it politely. As the leader of this cult you are responsible for the members as long as they are part of your group. I have seen them attack innocent people. And you have casted in town before, with very little purpose, and the reasons you have are very weak.

Shakes his head before he begins to write

If you recall, these messages are being posted, and we're not having a live conversation...have you fallen ill?

Casting on Grimey, for example. We were talking in the library, and you simply throw a flame on him in the most random spot I've ever seen...even if he has casted on you, which I'm not sure actually happened, that doesn't give you the right to messily place a fire on him.

Yes, it is propaganda. I've yet to see any deaths by our hands...we have been attacked rather than attacking more. Are there any more rumors that are true, as you claim? But the real question is...how do you think you know so much about our history if you don't have knowledge of members, much less what we even do?

The reason I casted near the library is to do a ritual, which isn't a poor reason if you have extreme goals such as mine to gradually complete. You, however, place random flames around when you get in a tangle (or at least, what I heard). And you can't criticize me for members attacking innocent people when you don't give any information on who did it, what they looked like, or even what their race was. I doubt they have even attacked, because anybody who has claimed to have been NEVER told me a single thing about their attacker to prevent it...so, it's your bad day.

I was referring to when we met in the forest with Salathe and Crosis. And you told me in person that you set those fires to scare people off. How dull is that? Who would avoid a normal flame? Even if you didn't mean that, it still is a foolish reason. And yes, Grimey did cast on me, and many others, and you were planning more evil deeds. And are you defending Paul? Because you have contradicted yourself again. You are attacking me for the Grimey incident, which was justified, but defending Paul after he lit an honestly innocent person. A newcommer Elf, who was quietly fishing. One minute he was just standing there, the next BOOM, Paul is nailing him with fire. Tis sad. I have watched this law abiding, and God loving town turn into a haven for criminal defenders and dark business.

As usual, incorrect. I put those flames there for a warning that they're approaching something not to their liking, I didn't say a thing about scaring them off. I'm not defending Paul for his actions, I just don't see it fit that you try to kill him for casting as you casted in town too...there are better ways of making quick work of somebody that has wronged you (Grimey) than throwing little red flames on him and disturbing any patterns for the flames...ever tried a hept kel? You obviously don't have a clue about what's going on.
