Greetings,
To create the professions of silversmith and coppersmith why not implement the metals silver and copper? I do not see why they have not been implemented for so long as the graphics are already present. One needs only change the current graphic for the gold nuggets to different shades of color and type in a new name.

What items do you exactly want to create out of Silver and/or Chopper?

@Loki What items did a silversmith and coppersmith create in the medieval ages? All sorts of items!
Silversmith: Silver goblets, silver amuletts, silver rings, silver jewellery, silver plates, silver utensils (knives, forks, spoons), silver ingots...(many things were made by a silversmith in the medieval ages)
Coppersmith: Copper candle sticks, copper pitchers, copper chandeliers..(many things were made by a coppersmith in the medieval ages)

Common metals used were:
Silver
Tin
Copper
Iron
Gold

I know that iron comes in ore form.
Gold can come in nugget form or ore form
Copper and tin I"m really not sure what form they are mined in.
I know that Silver can be found in a type of dirt, during the California gold rush people where trying to find ways to get rid of all this black goey dirt until someone analyzed it and found that it was actually silver! I"m not sure if silver comes in nugget form or not.

it depends, there alot more kinds of silver than there are gold, i dont see the need for a copper smith as it is very soft, if you have enough money for copper stuff you could probobly buy gold, if you dont you could buy wood stuff, i really think we need a wooden bowl. we could have silver rings ect exept they would be HARDER to make, not really because its more valuable, silver is harder and melts at a higher temperature than gold. just change the color of the goldsmithing items and boom. you would have to mine silver say in the desert? i have seen some that formed in sand due to a lightning strike. err i think silver would probobly come in one diluted nugget. accually just about all metals come in ore, there is no pure iron in nature as it naturally has carbon in it, this is why we purify it to make steel. I think smelting should be a skill to make steel.

p.s. maybe we could make a strong quiksilver armor that is sturdy but hurts you since quiksilver is poison hehe, just a though.

@Serpardum Copper mining is entirely different from the other types of mining...In the medieval ages because they did not have all this advanced technology like drilling machines etc. etc. to go very deep into the earth, the best and most used way to mine copper was to go into the river. People would use sieves to strain the copper that can be found naturally in water.

roke naturally yes, if it was made like that, probobly not. naturally means something occurs in nature. how do you think gold gets into rivers, it doesnt just appear there, but it IS found naturally.

is it just me or did rokes message dissapear?

I deleted it because it was incorrect and there is no point in keeping it on the topic.

yes your mages crystal could be made out of elaratite. jk but our own material would make it more fantasyish i know mithril has been brought up and discussed but we need more uniqeness to the game. this would be an exelent way to do it.

In medieval ages, there had been in fact a lot of mines that were dug into the mountains. The idea of dwarves came from the fact that those mines were that narrow that only children or very small people could enter the most narrow ones. ;)
Copper and tin were mined as ores, minerals like copper slate. Then the metals had to be processed from them.

@Adano Remember they did not have machinery back then to drill amazing depths...that's why for copper (which is found considerably deep) they 'mined' it in the river. But for the sake of keeping things simple, I suppose we could just have copper mined on rocks just like all the other ores; afterall this is a fantasy game.

It just depends on where you search. Certain areas here in Germany are full of mines from medieval times. Slate is a very soft material and you don't need heavy machinery to mine it. And it can often be found very close to the surface so it isn't needed to dig very deep.

just wondering, why are we talking about how to mine copper, but, we should be able to pan the river. instead of having it a skill (for the sake of not having a person who could have tons of nuggets) you could just make it say 1/50 a person gets a nugget. also one question, will we have copper, silver, and gold ingots or just gold ingots?
