Rogue within the name rules? I belive so, hehe.

Rogue is well within the name rules given:

A) in his story, thats his Birth name.
B) His entire family including great aunts triple removed were killed, thus making a last name impluasible.
C) Its certainly a name on X-men, besides It sounds good and fits character mood.

now not to say create a character named poopywoopy and say *oh he was born that way* nahh, Rogue's much more pluasible, and within game rules.
with one excpetion, its an existing word.

Its Capitalised, Its not a famous people(s) Its a First Name.

Its not a name from a book, its easy to remember, It fits the character, it can be spoken....

Isnt a "Rogue" somekind of Hunter?

You already said that, its an existing word, so its not within the given Rules.
Rules wrote:3. First names may NOT include existing words

I also said with ONE exception (the one you pointed out)

Well, Sean-San

i just want to make sure, you dont get unhappy if its denied.
Because to me, it seems like you think it is well in the rules.
Rogue is well within the name rules given
To be honest, it seems like you wanted to cover you lack of ability to think of a better name. Sorry for beeing harsh.

May i suggest a Last Name? "Laffing" is always a good choise.
(I am just kidding)

Rogue is a word. Rogue is therefore against the name rules and will be denied.

You gotta follow ALL the name rules, not just the ones you like.

you know what, NOW I see why people left, they proably spent 10hrs of three days(I say again 3DAYS) To write a story, that gets denied anyways, they prolly got fed up and left.

Dyluck (sorry dude, but you gave yourself away long time, dont be angry) Game character, violation of game rules....

Neon Rift,Neon Fire all other neons...Violation of NAME RULES.....

Galadria (again dont be mad, please) Violation......

GMcFly, Definatly a violation somewhere there...

Der Assasine? yet another violation....

Heck the whole game is violation of the rules....

Jail, since when was the word "jail" used in the middle ages?....

Numbers, always with the numbers.......I still see numbers posts on the RPG board (you know who you are.)

The old registered powergamer syndrome, give them an account, they become Licensed powergamers, oh ya, I hear the stories like EVERY DAY.

So I do something differant, and yet I still get shot down, no wonder people drop illa like flies man....

Sean, calm down.
Maybe you realy should go to the Newbie-Forum.
This is nolonger the Illarion you left.

To your "so called" Violations. There are no ones.

There is only a rule, that disallowes the use of "well known Persons form Real Life"
That does not include fictional names from other Games and/or Books.

I personaly dont know a game with a Charakter called "Dyluck"
I dont mind if someone calles himself after a pervert comic figur from Dragon Ball.
I dont see a Violation in Galadria (Note: "Galadriel" is from LotR)
Der Assassine, is a anonymus board Account for a Hitman, noting to complain about,
GMcFly is a board Moderator, this is not a InGame Charaktername.

So Sean-San-Chan, you better head for the Newbie Boards, to learn de difference beetween.
In Charakter, Out Of Charakter, Real Life, Board Names and the whole Stuff what comes along with Roleplaying.

Have a great day with learning,
Yours,
Loki

Rogue is a word that means 'thief'/''pilferer' etc. etc. I do not think it is a plausible name...because:
1. As you mentioned it is a famous name from the show 'X-Men'
2. It is a word that can be found in the dictionary ...

Rogue would even be a bad last name.

But : You can add "the Rogue" in your title field. It will be shown in the game now.
So, you just need a name.

Actually,
1. Is frowned upon but allowed.
2. Is what makes it against the rules.

It is a very good idea to pick a unique name like, oh, I don't know, Serpardum <grin>. One that has no history behind it, so my character makes his own history.

IT IS NOT HARD to come up with names, unless you have limited imagination.

seriously its not very difficult, Quotatious Codemius. look around i just thought up those looking at the quote and code buttons while typing this message.

you know what I thought when typing this message, first I thought Big E is a...well, nahh wont say it, then I thought , where the heck IS morrowind? Then I thought, oh ya, its a third rate game or book of some kind....
Then I thought, names being hard to make up, limited imagination, if my imagination is so limitied why did I spend 10hrs over 3days typing a story for illarion, when I could work on one for publishing.....

and THEN I thought, where the heck is morrowind.....

I mean, Germany,Canada,Hell,Heaven,Trolls Bane,The Forest...then Morrowind?

...

its in tamrial, on a different planet. accually its in a game. Mournhold is the capital city and in my avatar i have royal guard armor on.

morrowind is a very good game and there are alot of errors but who can you blame if there is litterally miles of graphics, landscaping, and scripting done to make this game. i doubt you could make a rock the looks that good. 3rd rate game? its true there arent many non-online rpg's anymore but its still a very fun game.

sean, no ones making you play this 3rd rate game.

Gro-bul, permit me to correct you. Mournhold is not the capitol of Morrowind. It's the capitol of the Tribunal Temple. The capitol of Morrowind is Almalexia which is the large city which surrounds Mournhold. Don't worry if you're confused. You can never visit Almalexia in the game because the Tribunal expansion is acutually an interior cell that simply acts as an exterior cell. Mournhold is not placed where Mournhold would be (if you play around in the construction set, you'll know what I mean.) If you want to see where Mournhold would be in relation to Vvardenfell, visit the Tamriel Rebuilt sight. They have a large map that shows exactly where it would be.

Hmm, looks like I've started rambling again. It always happens when I start talking about Tamriel (or Lord of the Rings.)

err i was wondering why they showed amelexia instead of mournhold on that map. :? yes i know its an interior cell, you cant jump out of it and it shows you in ebonheart on the map.

This is a general response to the entire thing.

Everybody seems to have a great chip on their shoulder over what Sean did in the past.
I myself, arrived in the game near the end of the whole "war," and found his character to be quite a friendly one, donating a blanket to my homeless elven character at the time.

Perhaps if you let go of the past and realise that Sean, evidently has put a lot of effort into his story (if what he claims is true) and as such, should be granted some lenience.

Now, if some older players, can be granted un-suitable names, why can't this old player Sean have one...Rogue, is an unsuitable name granted, but then is't Lennier one (Minbari alien from Babylon 5) isn't, isn't any other number of names?!

Now...everybody, stop looking for an easy target in Sean, and get back to inportant issues...

I am afraid that I'll have to disagree.

The mainstay of us who have name taken from somewhere, have created our characters before the namerules appeared. Surely, if I'd create a new character now, it'd have to obey the namerules, the time which the player has played the game is irrelevant.

Also the name rules don't say you mustn't use names from other fictional characters. They say you shouldn't.

A point I'd like to bring up. "Rogue" in the X-men comics isn't a name, it's an alias.

Posted: Fri Mar 14, 2003 11:02 pm

why do you need rogue...why cant you use rogan? or something its not hard. Logan or rogan or something and use your story with it. i dont know who sean is or was but i dont think the rules should be bent for something like this.

First of all,

who said illarion was third rate? Its definatly first rate, the work baldur and the guys put into the first client, and kep tit going for, about four years now innit?

I arrived in build 19, yes thats right, build 19, and never had a board account and sean-san as a character until build 22/23 (I dunno, I forgot....was august of 2001 I THINK!)

Sure he had his flaws (IE, bad RP, at first) Brendan came about near the end of sean-san(lasukie-kai's)days And yes, sean-san was a tyrannical egotistical, crazy mage who ALWAYS tried to one up Dyluck...and usually failed.

actually, is my old name and number still around bror? I'd like to bring back the old fellow, maybe lasukie? or Lloyd?

I cant rewrite the story(and have deleted it sadly in my rage) But I can work on a new one soon, maybe even better.

Dy, could you PM me please, I'd like to get in touch, Astral to (Roke already has:P)

Cara, how the hell are ya? as stubborn as ever old buddy?

(I talked to damien a few times about creating a char from another land or planet, so it is a GM forbidded it...)

Korwin, I owe you 20silver ingots dont I? wouldent mke me leave if I was you:P

oh ya, need to cliam my lotto prize.....

This is absolutely pathetic. I dont know what Sean was like back in his day, but the name "Rogue" should be accepted. You know why? I'll tell you. I just checked the Illarion status to see who was on and you know what I saw? Someone with the name "Mania," that's what. Mania is a word and if someone can get the name Mania, then dammit Rogue should be an accepted name. I swear, people are just picking and choosing who they allow names to.

Hadrog, thanks for clearing this up form me.
I would never have guessed it is from Secret of Mana, because i played it back in my "Nintendo-Days".
But in the German Version of this Game, Dyluck was renamed to "Hagen".
Lets take a minute of silence to remember Hagens/Dylucks Tragedy.

Cain, good to see you old man! and your so right, always so right....
