Traps

As Xerake is walking through the northwestern forests in search of quality herbs, he stops and lowers the volume of his breathing. Just when he notices that he is surrounded, several men jump from the trees with daggers. Xerake manages to dodge a few of them, killing a few with his blade. He jumps onto the trees, hopping from one to another hoping that he escaped as a few more men are running after him in vain. Removing his cloak, he realized that he was cut badly in the side. Before he can make an attempt to heal himself, a mage hits him over the head with a hammer...
Xerake then wakes up in a dark cell, noticing that his wound is still untended. Unfortunately, he also finds that his blade and equipment are all gone...with the exception of 'harmless' items such as a book, a mild healing potion, and a canteen of water. He then takes out the book, and writes...
I'm guessing it has been days since I was imprisoned, for I feel a demented hunger. Unfortunately, I haven't an idea where I am...my wound still hinders my ability to think rationally as well, due to my constant cringing and hard breathing. I overheard talking in my sleep, and I believe the mage that attacked me was named...Fortinbris? I'm not sure how long I can survive, but a few burning questions remain...who were those men that attacked me? Why was I brought here instead of slain on the spot? But ultimately...why was I attacked in the first place? I hope that confident eyes may read this note, for it's my last hope. Fortinbris must die. I hope that somebody, even if they're not in my clan, can respond. Help me. Help me.
After the note is written, Xerake tears it out of the book and sticks the piece of parchment through a small crack in the all. The wind carries it south, onto the streets of Trollsbane.
