As such you will understand that having an uninvited stranger hover around our bag of gold within arm's reach raises suspicion, especially when suddenly a handful of coins disappear from it. To Assistant Margret and the authorities of Galmair,
regarding the accused thief Netzach Nitzachon

In Ronas of this year 79 we, the Black Wyvern Company, represented by our company's captain Malchus, have become victims of brazen theft committed by the Galmairian citizen Netzach Nitzachon, alias Seignore Nethach Nithachon, who, according to Ms. Margret's previous writing, works as an assistant under her tutelage.

Whilst our captain and two of our company’s hirelings, Ms. Celdea and Mr. Jroy Palindrum, were surveying and dividing the spoils of their latest hunt on Galmair's market square, the accused Mr. Nitzachon approached unbidden the bag containing their loot under the pretence of wanting to "look" at it and stole from it a pile of seven gold coins with which he swiftly absconded.

Though the thief Nitzachon may deny the accusation, Captain Malchus's account of the incident can be corroborated by the testimonies of three witnesses: Ms. Celdea, enchantress of Runewick; Mr. Palindrum, mercenary and citizen of Galmair; and Mr. Richard Ironheart, merchant of Galmair and master of the local blacksmithing guild — all honourable men and women of good repute. You shall find here copies of the two Galmairians' written testimonies, the originals of which can be provided by Captain Malchus upon request.

As Mr. Nitzachon refuses to make amends and shows no contrition, we invoke the sixth rule of Galmair's customary law, unchanging and valid as the gold upon which it is engraved: "If you did harm, compensate generously, twice the damage."

We are no legal scholars, but a free band of mercenaries, and thus we defer to Galmair's authorities and the Financiership for which Ms. Margret apparently speaks to uphold and enforce their law, to pass judgement on the accused, and to collect and compensate the fourteen gold coins which Mr. Nitzachon owes to the Black Wyvern Company in accordance with the Don's rules.

Regarding Ms. Marget's claim, we have reviewed it and found no rendered service nor other reason for which the Black Wyvern Company should owe her the 200 gold coins unduly billed by her. The Company thus rejects her unreasonable demand.

Even if Celdea and Jroy are members of our mercenary company, Richard is not. He is an independent and recognised merchant of Galmair, unaffiliated with us Black Wyverns, having done business with you as much as with us and anyone else. He has no reason to lie about what he saw you do that day with our lootbag on the market. It's four testimonies against yours.

As for your baseless claims of assault, these are clearly lies fabricated to distract from your theft. You're a thief and a liar, nothing more, and whatever other trouble you got yourself into elsewhere is no concern of mine. You have no proof nor witnesses of those attacks I've allegedly committed, because it didn't happen.

If you're a student of the law and so confident in your case as you claim to be, let Galmair's authorities judge it. You won't see a single copper coin from me.
