A large, wooden board festooned with various parchments advertises Company-sanctioned job opportunities for mercenaries. Although the Company officially denies to also broker illegal contracts under the table to less scrupulous blades-for-hire, rumours persist.

Hushed words go around about a hefty bounty having been put on a certain orc's head, and curious bounty hunters and would-be assassins who mingle with Illarion's shadier circles may have the following bounty letter slipped into their hand. The lack of any seals or signatures leaves no doubt that this hit isn't sanctioned by official authorities, but the promised reward is accordingly large.
WANTED DEAD
Greum
Image

Description: Male orc. Big, ugly, smelly, and green.

Wanted for the murder of Guildmaster Bernie Bottoms of the Chamber of Commerce, who, by Cherga's grace, returned to the world of the living and put out a bounty on his murderer's head.
Greum is affiliated with the orcish Bloodbane clan and suspected to be hiding in Galmair. Heavily armoured and armed with a warhammer. A coward who is quick to run when confronted.

Warning: Greum is a citizen of Galmair and attacking him will be considered a crime by its authorities.
Hunters are advised to strike when no witnesses are around or to conceal their identity through disguise and transformation potions.

Deliver Greum's head to Bernie Bottoms to claim this bounty.

REWARD: 100 GOLD COINS

CLAIMED
The Sewer Papers and word of mouth spread the news of Greum's alleged killing. As the wanted orc hasn't been seen for a while, the consensus in Illarion's underworld is that this bounty has been claimed and that anyone hunting Greum any longer would be wasting their time.

Two new contracts are pinned to the board by the Company's captain, though there's also talk of a secret, third contract being circulated among more seasoned and less scrupulous mercenaries.
Rat Catchers Wanted!

The towns' wells have a rat infestation problem. The vermin breeds fast in the dank cisterns, contaminates the water with its filth, and damages crops and food stocks.
To cull their numbers, the Company sanctioned the killing of a thousand rats and offers a bounty of 1.5 silver for each rat caught. Deliver rat meat to Captain Malchus as proof of your work to claim your reward.
A low-risk contract especially suitable for rookie mercenaries. Once completed, the most diligent rat catcher will be rewarded with a bonus.

Rats caught: 1001 / 1000

COMPLETED

By exterminating over a thousand rats, the Black Wyvern Company did its part to keep the town wells rat-free, at least for a while. Sergeant Lyrica Elmswood in particular distinguished herself as rat catcher by delivering no less than 626 dead rats for the bounty.

A contract suitable for both beginners and seasoned hunters.

There's talk among the sellswords of a contract not openly published; a contract for adventurers who may seek a more thrilling challenge. Digging deeper into the matter may reveal that the talk is about hunting dragons — sacred creatures to Brágon's followers. Though not illegal, hunting dragons is nevertheless a questionable act in their eyes.
Dragon Slayers Wanted!

A client of exceptional taste and means desires a large shipment of dragon meat. One thousand haunches of this delicacy are to be procured and will be rewarded with 10 silver coins apiece. Once completed, the greatest dragon slayer will be recognised with a bonus.
Note: Though dragon hunting isn't illegal, Brágon-worshippers in high places may take exception to dealing in their body parts, so don't go on about bragging too loudly about your brave dragon hunting exploits. The shrewd hunter is a silent one.
Beware! Dragons are extremely dangerous and best fought with a group. This contract is recommended for experienced mercenaries only.
Update: Due to high demand and the great risk that dragon hunting entails, the bounty for dragon meat has been doubled from 5 silver to 10 silver apiece.

Contract for Mas 77

Posted: Thu Feb 05, 2026 2:12 am
by Black Wyvern Company
Whilst most folk dread the coming of Mas, mercenaries often welcome that month as a good time for business. And indeed, judging by the latest contract posted on the Black Wyvern Company's board, this Mas there is good business to be had for mercenaries in Cadomyr.
Contract for Mas 77
1st - 5th Mas 77 ((08th - 9th February 2026))

As Mas approaches, Lady Inara Valdris, court knight of Cadomyr, enlisted the Black Wyvern Company to bolster the defences of Cadomyr and its allies.
All Company members ready to join the ranks of the towns' defenders are to report at Mas in Cadomyr.
Mercenaries are expected to be prepared for prolonged and intense fighting. Expect to face the undead and other supernatural threats, so keep your wits about you!

Company members may choose between a sum of latent magical gems or gold as reward.

COMPLETED

At the command of our Cadomyrian employer, our Company's mercenaries reinforced Galmair against the besieging forces of darkness, defending the walls as well as leading daring sallies through the lines of the besiegers. By Malachin's bravery and Cherga's mercy, we persevered until the first sunlight of the year 78 broke through the long night of Mas, completing our perilous contract.

The Chamber of Commerce provided the Company with two additonal contracts. The latter is passed around with a hushed voice; there is suspicion that it may be sacrilege against Brágon in the eyes of the fire god's more zealous devotees.

Bernie Bottoms, guild master of the Chamber of Commerce, helms a hunting and gathering trip to the Elstree Forest and is looking for mercenaries to escort and protect him from the local wildlife. A contract suitable for rookies and seasoned mercenaries alike.
