Cay hides in her room with the door locked, yet also it propped with not only the chest which was finally pulled over with some difficulty, but a chair on the side before climbing on top. Cay ponders the best time to run having heard the rumor of Jefferson in the area by laying her ear on the door and listening intently but the usual noise of the Hemp Necktie seems to hide other sounds she wanted to hear.
