A Cauldron beeing made

Post by Drugar Stonesmasher »

A Day in Galmair

A dwarf may be seen rumaging eagerly through his materials. Inspecting bars of metal, discarding some for one reason, others for another reason he sets up two heaps and then starts to sort through the smaler one in the same fasion. In the end he is down to a hand full of bars, some of a more blueish hue, some shining golden or silvery.
Later he may be seen going to the temple of Irmoron with a heavy bag and some smithing tools muttering "Hope them tell me what the requirements are exactly..."

It had been quite a trial.
And he had known it would be a trial.

And Deanna would owe him for enduring this.....

But finally he had these plans ... at least the more important part of them... for the cap of the cauldron.
It needed to be robust and solid. But of course a unique cauldron like this should not get such rough mounts.
He would smith them to resemble dragonheads. And the feet of the cauldron to resemble dragon claws, digging into the ground.
This Granor did not have the least understanding for art and good workmannship.
Or maybe he would put a dragons head on top of the cap and the mounts in the form of its foreclaws.

A Dragon.. the perfect symbol for what this cauldron was to be made.. hot, dangerous, capable of exploding.

Just that Granor didnt approve of the plan for any melting or cooling, which he had'nt quite understood himself.
But that was none of his business anyway.. all he needed to do was crafting this cauldron as robust as possible
and as artfully decorated as it seemed appropriate.
And that there should be a way of fixing the cauldron fast, best on solid rock.
he would see to that..

The Cauldon consists of 3 Dragonclaw feet giving the cauldron a stable stand.
The lid is held by 3 dragon claws, of which 1 is a hinge to hold the lid while the other two are tilted by solid screws to keep the lid closed firmly.
The lid itself is decorated by a dragons head.
