I was wandering around the town one day. That is when I ran into a dwarf. This dwarf says he can smith something called a "dwarven axe." Is this possibly a bug? He isn't lying because he gave Mishrack and I one.

you too? i can smith this weapon too. but no other dwarf i have met. could this be a bug? because the other dwarves were either mastersmith or not so good like me in smithing. the best, except the dwarvenaxe, what i can smith is the doubleaxe

of course it is new, but it is normal that only two player can smith this weapon? eaven mastersmith aren't able to smith it.

Perhaps it has something to do with preset attributes...

Could be a complex combination of several skills or something... Who knows ! :P

Or maybe this is a racist plot between the dwarves and the humans!! Or maybe I am just paranoid ....

I was thinking for awhile and realized something.
Maybe this weapon was added, but those who are master blacksmiths cannot make them. If you are not a master blacksmith, then you cannot make all the items right? So maybe they added the weapon in, but if you are a master blacksmith, you can already make all the items, so there is nowhere to add it. So basicly, I think master blacksmiths cannot make them.

So, what the master smiths have to do is die a few times, loose their skill, and take several months to regain it so they can smith this new weapon!

Please, everybody stop begging for all of the new things to be explained, figure the new items out yourself, it is more fun that way!
Love the new client by the way. I think the desert looks better, especially now as it appears to be on a higher level than the rest of the land,
was that intentional?

Tell Newbies they are teleporters and let then get snapped byt the trap! No, don't, maybe they are for catching monsters?

Can you explain this?

The dwarven axe bug is fixed.

I think it could be the shading on the desert tiles could create the effect of elevation.

And even though the bug is fixed it's still to 'dwarven' hehe :D And I think all races will be wanting their 'elven bows' and 'orcen spears' etc

Heh, I had a feeling it was just a bug.

back to the dwarven axe......only players with a particular level of blacksmithing can make this axe....all races, there are no differences. I think its a bug, so it would be fixed in some days/weeks/month *g*

I could make the axe yesterday in the evening (CET).
Maybe the "bug" they talk about is that non-dwarves can smith dwarven-axes.

No, there were many dwarfs who could make this item.

dude

I can make it, thats wierd that no one else can. It must not have set in for master smiths quite yet. probably because your allready a master and the game thinks you can make everything.

It was corrected, everyone can make the axe, I believe if they have a certain skill level, although I am guessing that.

Everyone can make the dwarven axes. This is an old topic. :)

I think that dwarven axes should only be craftable by dwarves. It only makes sense and that would add much to the roleplaying atmosphere of illarion.

Not entirely. Dvarven axes should be a dwarfen specific item but in a way that only those who learn their secret from the dwarves can make them. And as a good dwarf I wouldn't give the secret to any non-dwarf.
As I said before, technical restrictions lead to situations which cannot be explained reasonably in game, because technical restrictions are OOC restrictions.

Only because an item is intended to be used by a specific individual doesn't mean that no other can use or produce it. At least it is not true to say "it makes no sense".
