Sorry if this is the wrong place--I'm still learning.

If I make silver cups with goldsmithing skill, I stack all the cups I make in ONE storage space. When I make needles with the blacksmithing skill, EACH needle takes up one whole storage space. This to me makes no sense. I could put a hundred needles inside one cup. I could stack 80 cups in one space. Why do I need 80 spaces for 80 needles???

yes, that's exactly why. because of the quality, each needle is different and therefore cannot stack. a bit of pain, but that's what it is. tools are much different than all other items.
