Ok, I had my character doing some mineing, and of all the rotten luck his shovel breaks. Sold off what he was able to make, and only ended up with four gold. Not much of a start... Can anyone offer any suggestions on what can be done next? Granted I suppose I could ask someone, but everyone I saw on there was speaking German, so that wouldn't be a good thing for me to try and gain some in game assistance from other players. I could probably try to make some leather goods, but at the time of this message, there was no leather available in the shop. Ugh, not a good first day. x.x

Try it with "Kann mir jemand eine Schaufel geben, meine ist gebrochen und ich hab kein Gold um mir eine zu kaufen" that means "Does anyone has a shovel for me, mine is broken and I don't have any gold to buy a new one"
But I'm sure that almost everyone speaks english in Illarion or understand that you need help, so just ask and see what happen.
Phew.

Thanks to whoever you are for helping me out with the shovels, and for suggesting that I make some of my own. Now I won't be as stuck.
Hopefully my first week in Illarion will go smoother once I get the hang of things.

Also, you could try slaughtering pigs, cooking their meat and selling it for 2g each at the shop, and leather goes for 2-4g each to some players (i think). And if worst comes to worst, sell your trousers for 2g to Eliza, hehe

You sell it to Eliza and she isn't a player, the stuff goes to her alone.

And slaughtering pigs? The poor animals...how cruel! (is this the right word?!

) Anyway, try to ask people for help its easier then kill pigs and so you get friends or social contact
And I'm Josefines player and not anyone I'm a player like you

Hey, thanks alot for the advice guys. You've all been a great deal of help. Now piggy man is makeing some serious gold from mineing, forgeing, and selling smoked hams. Much better start than after he busted his shovel on the first day.
Granted I don't speak much to anyone else, still trying to get the feel for the game. I shouldn't be to hard to pick out as I do RP my character. (When I see an opportunity to do just that. hehe) Anyway, see you all later!!
