Getting this message, saying "No connection to server- the client will be shut down". I have internet access, am able to login and retrieve my characters, but the game doesn't load and get this message instead. Is Illa down?

Have you connected to Illarion from the place you are connecting from, before? Sounds to me like the ports to access the server might be closed by your network admin, which is common practice at schools/workplaces.
If that's not the case, someone with more knowledge than me on the matter will surely come across this post and help you soon enough.
