I can't vote on any of these options. I see, think, "Elven" but does this really matter? Consistently matters, not the name. And even if it gets spelled another way, I don't care. I put it into the category of different nationalities. I know what you mean, good enough for me.

Ich bevorzuge im deutschen Sprachgebrauch die Bezeichnung Elb/Elben. Unter Elfen sind auch kleine Feen zu verstehen. In english language I use elf/elves.
