Movement revisited

I am trying one last, hopefully not futile time to try and get an added option for the movement.

Some people preferred the click and release type movement where the char would run or walk in the direction the mouse was pointing, when the player released the mouse the char stopped. This option was taken out when the new movement came around, keep in mind I am not talking about the movement bugs I am talking about the movement option.

Some players have mentioned this, others are comfortable with the movement style they use. If those players are still wanting that movement option PLEASE SAY SO HERE!

Ask and you shall recieve :P

Here's a link to the mantis report please post your queries, suggestions, complaints, agreements. or disagreements here. http://illarion.org/mantis/view.php?id=10349

btw the wasd movement SUCKS it's HORRIBLE you can't emote while trying to walk and you get all mixed up and RAWRSIES annnd I said assss quite alot ig inadvertantly, it's annoying and occasionally embarrassing.

The proposal board is not a petition board. Second, making a proposal and mantis task is useless. The idea of the proposal board is to discuss ideas and wrap them after a discussion into a proper mantis task. Third, holding the left mouse button to walk works for me. If you release it, he stops. If you want the char to stop where he is now, just move the mouse to your char before releasing. The last stop cannot really be so much trouble for you.

In fact it is too much trouble because my char runs around the map like a retard with his junk cut off whenever I attempt to do as you just suggested. I posted this because other players have mentioned a want to get rid of this one click movement in the past their pleas were ignored, I thought it would be alot simpler if I simply requested this option instead.

As for posting both here and in mantis I wanted to make sure said players were aware. Some people don't check mantis often so by posting this request/proposal both here and in mantis it may generate more support. Because usually if small things like this don't have half the player base trying to back it up it often gets blatantly ignored.

Don't take this the wrong way I appreciate the insane work the devs do on this game, however I wish that players were sometimes taken a bit more seriously.

The old movement sucked. It was just plain weird. The request for the movement option was not ignored but rejected.

By the way, if you also state that WASD sucks, what other games of this genre did you play without WASD? How do those games handle movement?

I have looked at this new movement for awhile and have come to the conclusion it is not the movement fault but objects, or both. If you attempt to go behind or in the shadow of a tree or anything else that can interfere with your char the char goes up/down/sideways or whichever direction rather then going where your mouse points. Frequently it will go in front of that object or tree which has the appearance of the char simply running around in circles. In order to keep the char from ignoring tree shadows and such, you may not be able to pick apples except when facing the tree from the front however it might be worth it not to get this strange action. The movement IMO works perfectly fine if a clear space to click for your char to move. Using a mouse and adjusting the distance has the same effect.. works fine until behind anything that obstructs it.

I agree with Achae. The problem does not only occur with tree but also if you try e.g. to get behind a table without a chair behind it you could click. You WILL end up ON the table.
