I'm done, the people here can have their games. Honor is dead. I am not sure what really controls the lands now, is it stupidity? Or insanity?
No longer shall I hold the guilt of lives lost, no longer shall I engage in your pathetic games of lies uttered in the secret dark places. None of you are worth my time.

And for all to know, I am Bartimaeus Al'jinni, as much as I am Vern Burnhammer. I was granted a chance to redeem myself, to end the threat which plagues these lands. But you all seem content to play along and relish in the madness. And you Kahramesz, you are nothing, you eat off of the scraps which Bartimaeus left behind. You attack the defenseless instead of testing your strength against worthy opponents. You stalk the places of ruffians an criminals in the night like you were one of them.

Bartimaeus lived his life believing he owed his existence to the Bone lord, he did things he hated, until he grew desensitized to the unspeakable acts. Bartimaeus was in truth no better than this Kahramesz. But.. in those last moments he died for someone he didn't care for, or love. He stupidly tried to infiltrate a city and single handedly try to release a prisoner who had saved his life. But in the end he was burned next to the very person he tried to save while people threw rotten vegetables at him and others honored him as if he were some kind of hero. There is no glory there, no grand or epic ending. But.. He came inte me with hope.. hope that he could once again see the people he cared for and that he could end the threat he created. So that maybe.. just maybe he could prevent the death of at least one innocent life.

But now we feel that our time is up. The hope that kept our souls going has died and we die with it. Our essence is too weak to maintain the individuality of our souls in the single vessel. All our memories will fade our values and principles dissolving into nothingness. This is the Price I vern Burnhammer pay for the blessing of Bragon, and this is the price Bartimaeus pays for his second chance. We will die a death of the soul and fade into nothing, a void. No afterlife of the great war against Moshran by day and feasting in Malachin's mess halls by night, and no pain. We are now and forever, lost to memory and time...

Approaching the town board she reads his words, grinning

*Oh my my, dwarfs are always so damn pathetic and declamatory if someone opposes them with another meaning. Speaking is silver, Silence is golden. A dwarf will never learn this.*
