Pig Ball Tournament
Posted: Sun Jan 19, 2003 8:30 pm
Greetings citizens of Illarion. I am going to start a pig ball tournament. Of course it has come to my attention that quite a few of you don't quite know what pig ball is, so I may as well explain it. Pig ball was originally created by Dyluck (Or so I hear). This tournament will have some slightly modified rules. The pig ball field is 13 meters long ((tiles)) and 6 meters wide ((also tiles)). There are two teams, each with two players. At both ends of the field there are goal areas, and the goal is to push a pig, or sheep, into this area. In any case, I can't possibly do this alone. So before teams start registering judges are need (A judge may also be on a pig ball team). The judges will be required to be at the pig ball area for the start of their assigned game(s). They will also make sure the rules are followed and keep score. At the end of the game the judge will report the score to me ((so I can post the standings)). The possible game times are:

If you would really like to participate, but the times are inconvenient please mention it. Not all these spaces need to be filled, they are just options for game times. Once all the judges are worked out a list of game dates will be worked out. Also, here are the exact rules (so far):
#1: No person may stand in their goal space, or the other teams goal space for more than 2 seconds. Any individual violating this rule will be removed from the playing field for 1 minute. Any individual taking advantage of the rule (walking in and out of the goal space more than 3 times in a short period of time) will also be penalized.
#2: No magic is to be used during the course of the game. Any person casting any spell (other than the healing spell) will be removed form the field for 2 minutes.
#3: No violence. In the event of an attack on any individual during play, play will be stopped and that person healed. Everything must return to where it was when play ceased before play continues.
#4: No items such as chests or vases shall be placed upon the playing surface.
((#5: In the event someone 'lags out' play will be stopped for a maximum of 3 minutes. Play continues once that person has returned and everything is where it was when play stopped. If they do not return in three minutes, play continues without them.))
#6: The first team to score 5 points will win.
#7: Teams may have more than 2 people, but only 2 members of that team will be allowed to play pig ball at one time. The members of a team may not change until that game has ended.
More rules may be added.
