If he has the item an is unable to bring it to the npc, this can be a bug.
Edit: You need to bring him a GLASS with wine. Will report that on mantis. (something you are supposed to if you find things like this, Karl, and you know that!

If you bought normal wine, not elven or anything, it should work. I did it a while ago, with a goblet of wine I bought from the barkeeper, and he accepted it when I just said "quest" as a keyword.

How am I supposed to "FOIG"? I have the wine in my inventory, I'll say "Quest" and all he'll answer "Bring me wine!"
