Day 1
Evie tosses restlessly in her bed as the dwarven day’s events replay in her mind over and over. She lost her gift, her magic. She was in effect lost. Where was her purpose how could she live without it? Who was this Janus person to condemn and judge her taking what was gave to her by the gods. She recounted her days events over and over, she had even walked from place to place retracing her steps and pleading with him for understanding. Nothing.
Here she was, she knew nothing of why her magic was taken or nothing about how to get it back. She felt like.. ..A nothing.

Day 2
She awakes facing the new day hoping it is but a dream. Glancing idly at her hands she mumbles the runes to feed herself, again Nothing. Sighing she trudges down stairs to the kitchen to cook her meal. After a while her sister wakes and joins her, asking quietly of her magic. With a negative shake of her head she imparts the bad news, “its still gone.” They talk idle chit chat for a while then her sister grows serious.
“Evie, “ she says, “you are more than your magic, I love you for who you are and not what you can do for me. We will get thru this just like everything else.”
Tears in her eyes she hugs her sister feeling the first bit of warmth creaping back into the hole that as ripped in her soul when she discovered she couldn’t cast. As they part for their days chores her sisters words play thru her mind as she mines , cooks , and does all of her other normal tasks providing a comforting warmth against the harsh reality she was facing.
A few hours later she meets up with her mate, the first time since the horrid event. Quietly she asks him to join her at the fire, and quietly she tells her tale.
Afterwards he speaks softly , “Evie there is only one thing you can do, keep going”
“That is what sis said Rock, but I feel so weak.”
“You are not weak , come with me.”
Off he took her to train, showing her how he trains at night when she sleeps without a mages help. Teaching her different tricks and tactics that help without using Mes Pen. Later they join up with her sister and all go on a hunting party. Just like before. A family outing, with a few minor adaptations and changes.

Day 2 – Night
As she crawls into bed Evie feels a certain contentment. The magic has not returned.. there is no clue when it will be back if ever. Janus didn’t show for that day. And other than railing to the gods, there was nothing that could be done. She lays there and ponders her day before sgetting up quickly , slipping on her boots and going to the library to kneel before the alter of Elara.
Softly she starts to pray.
The prayer that comes from her mouth though is not for her gift of magic. The words the float out are praises and thanks. Thanking the gods for the loving family that supports her and loves her, that stands beside thru even her darkest moments. She prays to the gods thanking them for her true gift.. her family, and asks that they be watched over and protected. They are everything.
As quietly as she began, she finishes and walks back to her bed and falls asleep. She has Everything.

Day 3 – Early Hours
¬ A presence fills Evie’s mind as she sleeps, speaking in a soft voice. Awaking abruptly she looks about the room but sees no one. Slowly she tries to remember what was said “…. Don’t let my uncle get to you……. He clings to ideals that cannot be realized…….. rest, sleep…. Tomorrow will be better…..”
Shaking her head at the half remember words she sits up in bed looking at the slowing arriving morning. As full consciousness seeps in, she notices something that has been missing for days. She can feel the power of her mana resources humming thru her body. Closing her eyes and uttering a soft prayer she speaks the feeding runes. “ORL KAH QWAN” Tears come to her eyes as she feels the nuriousment filling her stomach. Softly she utters “Thank you”
Laying back down she sleeps smiling.
