Im trying to get my charactor to read the second chapter in the text book of ancient language and it just keeps saying he doesnt understand the things written in this book. Ive set the number counter at 2 also and still no luck. can anyone tell me why.

Maybe you should show more hesitant and try it tomorrow again, to learn a new language needs time

Thanks Dji but its been a week since i got gurk to learn his first chapter, does it take longer than "a dwarven week"?

It has to do with the ''cap'', ''You can not concentrate on learning right now'' and all of that, it has to be down for you to read a page of the book. One cap after reading a page should last about an hour IG, three hours out of game. (Please correct me any admins if I gave out too much or said anything wrong)

I did says gurk doesnt understand either, wich is strange because when i learnt it a week ago it said he already knows this chapter????

Im baffled even gurks master is baffled...

Not to sound insensitive, but you also have to think how smart Gurk is. He maybe having a bad day or may have drunk to much *winks* By that I mean he may not have enough intelligence to learn it.

He may have been lucky and had a smart day when he started.

I don't think this is giving anything away that shouldn't be, so...

The INT requirement for ancient is (or was) 13. So, technically, a mage could meet the requirements for learning magic but not for learning ancient.

Maybe, bad/good days? There are some days with int+2 or-2. Maybe thats the reason?

The second chapter worked for gurk this time. Must need to be completely fresh not a hint of tiredness? ... May be a hit and miss thing...
