Greetings to all,
Circumstances require me to spend some time on the mainland and therefore not all my time on Gobaith so I am opening the next governor election slightly early. By the time the entire process is over they will begin about 2-3 dwarven weeks early, and will serve that small extra time along with the regular 6 month period. One councilor spot is open and they will serve the same time.

Who is eligible?
-A citizen of Troll's Bane, in accordance with the list on the town wall
-Those involved with the serious and entirely unnecessary crimes of late may find themselves removed from the list. Do not question why, as it is obvious, and do not whine, both will be ignored.
-One may nominate themself. If nominated by another the individual must approve publicly or privately (letter to myself).

Duties of Governor
-Handle town business, including the council election to be held next month for the other 2 council spots.
-Handle town funds, anything of significant amount must be approved by the council.
-In previous times new leaders believed they could walk in and change anything they want. This is not the case anymore. By accepting a nomination one agrees to continue the current town charter and land contracts as they are. Any changes must be made after they win and with the council and judge.


So just to be clear, nominations are being accepted for governor and a single council spot. One may not be nominated for both. This process will last five dwarven days (Augst 27-September 1). Once nominated one may promote themselves as they please. Extra time will be allotted as well after nominations.

As of now, there is no law requiring me to be a citizen of one town only. It would seem dishonest if I retracted my citizenship there solely for the purpose of this election.

Troll's Bane has no dual citizenship agreements. If you are a citizen of another town, you cannot be a citizen of Troll's Bane, and by extension can't be nominated for governor. It has always been this way and especially so now, as independent citizens worked very hard to rid outside influences.

Alright, listen up.

I've been around and seen it all. I've heard all the flowery talk, watched promises become nothing more than the hot air they were spoken with and stood up on my own to defend OUR town, MY town. Look at this riff raff who put their names down here. Same old, same old.

What has ever been much achieved other than mule shit talk and squabbles and the same old faces doing the same old thing. The town is a dull bore. Make me Mayor, I bloody deserve it and those that know, know I love my town and tavern. (Even if it is Dwarf owned.)

Dear unsigned rambling defender of "YOUR TOWN". Thank you for making me laugh. However, if you want to be considered for GOVERNOR, not mayor. Then put down your name and that you nominate yourself. Otherwise, keep your parchments else where. This goes for any who are not interested in nominating someone or themselves.

Remember, there are two positions, one for governor and one for council member. If you think yourself worthy of the peoples trust, or feel someone else is worthy. Nominate away. And good luck to you all.

Current members of government cannot be nominated for any other position unless they are to resign their current one. OH if you belong to any organization other than one of bane, especially military organizations, you cannot run. There is a conflict of interest that will not be tolerated.

To clear up misunderstanding:
Those involved with other towns or lesser settlements in an official capacity are not allowed to be nominated for governor (Varshikar, Tol Vanima, Silverbrand, Greenbriar, Nordmark, Caelum).
Those involved in a guild that is based in or near Troll's Bane and are citizens of Troll's Bane are permitted.

I do not think that having Roland as a governor is a good idea.
There are some objective and personal reasons I do think so.

1. He is not fit to be a governor by his (limited) education.
2. He is too young a mage to measure the scope of the powers he can wield.
3. He has a tendency to show off his new tricks like if he were in a circus.
4. He has no empathy or sympathy for the bereaved.
5. He has a limited sense of humor.
6. He hates my guts!

I am putting my name up for the council position simply for want of involvement with bane other than standing around complaining about it..i want to help do something for the town..I know not whether I shall be accepted or not ridiculed or not but i was told by a close friend that if i really want to do something I should run..so thats what im doing. Vote for me and I shall help bring about change.And also..please no negative comments about me..i just want to make bane a better place..either vote for me or dont..dont talk down about me unless its to my face..written words are useless for insults as they hold no actual ground..and are just words on paper.

Voting will begin now. I originally planned a longer delay but at least one citizen will be gone for an extended period. I was going to allow early voting for a day for those cases but it seemed pointless to do that with a delay in between so we will just do it now. Voting will end in five dwarven days ((Sept 8 )), and you can take all the time you would like up to that point.
