The lighthouse cut through the veil of darkness as a man walked slowly along the docks, his boots clacking on the timber with every step before coming to a stop at the end of the boardwalk. His attire was a darker robe than usual, black actually, accompanied by a hood draped around his head and a dull gaze cast from beneath, out over the ocean. The wind whipped his hair about his tired face, dark bags having formed under his eyes from recent events, events which plagued his mind even now. He sighed. So much had happened in such a short time, he had lost a friend, gained an unexpected lover, but lost himself somewhere along the way... He just needed time... time to think, that was it, that was how he always coped. A trip to the mainland would do him good.

The expectant captain of the ship didn’t seem to care for the mood of his passenger, holding his hand out expectantly for his pay. The traveller’s brow furrowed as he handed the sea farer his pay, considering blasting him aside with a quick spell, but settled on pushing past impatiently.

“This better be a fast ship, Captain. We’ll be heading to the mainland...”

The figure finally spoke up, pushing back his hood to turn back and look at the weathered sea farer. His face appeared pale in the moonlight as a cold smile worked its way over his face. This seemed to shock the captain to attention as he scrambled aboard, yelling to his crew the order to set sail. The dark man simply held his smile, walking up the gun plank and over toward the railing, his robes billowing behind him from the harsh sea wind as the ship began a slow course toward the open sea.

He needed this. He needed a break, time to heal in both mind and body... it was time he visited an old friend...

((I’ll be gone for three months travelling around Australia!! :3 ))
