A littel Help Here, I can't Press the Play Button.

That's because your charname is too short, 3 letters are not enough for a name.

Had the same Problem when I was trying to log in as "Zak", the name is too short.

- open log-in window
-> type in a name longer than 3 letters, make one up
-> press Enter
- it will try to log in but of course fail because there is no such char
- open log-in window again, the long name should still be saved
- delete it and typein your 3-letter-name
- don't press Enter, click the Play button with your mouse
-> problem should be solved

It's how I did it

PS: Reading Zot's post .. ..did you make a char yet?

Am I the only one that may have just been hit by some malware or something from that link?

I had a three letter name too, just instead of logging in as a random name I added a letter to the name, clicked enter once without logging in, deleted the false letter, logged in, easier than having to do all what Matron said

Or simply, create a new char with more than 3 letters..

Thx it's works , i will use this method to log in ....

PS: I hade name Furyzone , but the GM changed because he sayd the name FUryzone not fit with the game . but he didn't say nothing about if is to short can't conect ....so - 1 for THE GM

GMs are watching the rules and making the game with quests more interesting. Even if the most of them also are fit in technical questions, they don't all know everything about the engine of Illarion. So don't take that to serious.

His first had fairly normal name and then he made one called Zott .

Surely you can just go in illarion.cfg and add (or edit) the line lastCharacters=Zal|Char2|Char3|Blah|Blah?

Yeah, tell the new player to edit the configuration file by hand.

While you're there, how about decompiling the jar files, finding a way around the obsfucator modify the check for the lenght of the textbox, finding a way of signing the client then recompiling it.

If i'm a new player it doesen't means i don't know how works a game ...

Well, most people want a 'click and play' sort of game. You're not meant to be playing around with the configuration files.

Oh good, because we're always in need of more developer volunteers

All I'm saying is it may be a dirty short term solution to a long term problem . There's no chance of the client login getting patched prevbu to include 3 letter character names, so anything that works will have to be good enough.
