Laying down in the hospital bed, Hew starts writing about his war effort so far.
I lay here ashamed an burned ta a crisp. Seeing that all were asleep when I entered the camp, I decided to press the attack. I have fought goblins many times so was not too worried ta head out on my own. I found the first bridge burned out so I went around an crossed the stream. I then followed it north till I came upon an injured goblin warrior. I yelled at him "This be ya last day, little green man!" then I charged him, swing both my axes. He fell in two hits. "This is gonna be easy." I then turned east an found another warrior. "Time ta die!" I yelled. Then attacked him with fury. He soon fell too. lookin around, seein noone around I headed for the second bridge.
Just on the other side was another goblin. I ran at him as fast as I could. After my second hit with my axes, I was enveloped in flames. "Damn! a shaman." I stepped aside, not bein burned to badly an continued the attack. Then a pillar of flames got me once more. This time my boots stuck ta the ground, meltin. I was slow steppin aside an got burned quite badly. "Another day, ya foul green man!" I yelled as I made my retreat. Just after I got back across the bridge, the shaman hit me with another spell, not sure what it was but it knocked me unconscience. When I woke I was too weak ta carry all I had so left most of it behind, makin my way back ta camp. When I got there, I let those there know what happened then made the long journey back ta town for medical treatment. So here I lay, wonderin how the war goes, hopin I will be able ta return before to long.
I write this as a warnin ta my fellow soldiers. Don't be the fool I was. Don't venture out on ya own. Here I lay without a chin hair unburned, cause I thought I could whip the goblin horde all on my own. Ta make things even worse, it will be some time before I am of use ta anyone again.
