Mekoa

Bad English:
I downloaded the Client and started the Game but it's very laggy. I can play Counter Strike Battlefield and all the other Games perfekt and you need for that Games a high Tech Pc. How can i get more fps (frames per second)?

Max framerate is 32fps. You can change it from 8-32 in the options at startup.

That's not what he wanted to know, his game just lags. It has nothing to do with the client settings.

Simple Checklist

1. Update Java
2. Try reducing illarion framerate
3. Close all programs which use a lot of internet (such as P2P clients)
4. Updated Graphics drivers (Illarion uses openGL, not DirectX)
5. Good luck

You might want to give this a try.... http://www.majorgeeks.com/GLSetup_d383.html

Otherwise, tell us the manufacturer and model of your graphics card, and we can try and find it for you.

Usually the default drivers which are made by windows are very good at Direct X but not very good at openGL.

However the manufacturers will have the best drivers. So find out the make of your card

(run: "Dxdiag") and you'll find the card under "Video"

Then google "drivers [card name]"

The manufacturer's website should be on the top, and update the drivers.

If this is too complex for you, just tell us the make and model and we'll find it for you.

Actually, Illarion doesn't run right for me on new versions of Java either for some reason, so you could try downloading JRE 1.4.2, which is what I use, you can run it alongside any newer version, and just launch Illarion from 1.4.2's web start app.

I'm pretty sure Java itself still has it for download on their own website.

Its unlikely that the client runs stable at Java Versions <= 1.4
It works surely on Java Version 1.5
There are no reported problems with newer Versions of Java 1.6
There are successful test-runs with Java 1.7 alpha

The problems that occur sound like a OpenGL problem. Updated graphic drivers are the thing you should try first.
