Located in the Troll's Bane Library a small human can be seen with many books opened at the table. He is seen hastily scrawling details on a piece of paper, transferring information from the book onto a separate parchment. After each parchment is completed it is copied onto a scroll which is later organized into the Library's collection of manuscripts and books.
The first scroll reads:
To all those who seek knowledge: I have been tasked by Governor Elijah Varrin to conduct a study on the history of Troll's Bane through researching various texts and then creating a brief history of Troll's Bane for the average commoner to read. By researching the rather detailed "Chronicles of Troll's Bane" and cross-referencing various governmental documents I am to create a short, yet thorough, history. As each year of history is read and compiled, a brief summary shall be copied to a scroll which shall be available for public scrutiny. Any commoner who can read is encouraged to devour this information and repeat it to those that can't read. Hopefully this will spur discussion, inform the peasantry of the past and allow for a more cultural and peaceful Troll's Bane for all of us.
Sincerely,
Axin of Lor-Angur
((Please steer clear of any chatter. As these are just a series of scrolls in the library it would be non-sensical to post here. If you wish to comment, please send a dove.))

YEAR ONE
Political: At the start of Year 1 in Troll’s Bane Damien creates the Order of the Grey Light which is dedicated to the protection of the city. The first killer in the city, Darkwalker, produced much trouble but eventually he was executed. To answer Darkwaler, Sturm Feuerklinge created the Grey Rose which would act as a police force in the city. In June the citizens officially decreed that the city be named Troll’s Bane. In August, Dyluck created the Magic Academy. The Lich Drahken Vorkalion, with the help of Moshran, attacks the town through his Demon Ashkatuul. The battles last from August 27th to September 4th when the Demons finally leave the city. The first King Udan dies, and his replacement King Caranthir fails to appear for his coronation. Xarex decides that a temple to Zelphia must be created. During September two major events happen. Giant Spiders attack the city, and a man named Cube partially burns down Troll's Bane. In November the School of Combat is opened, yet few support it. November 20th the Lich King attacks the city again, and the people are inflicted with a curse. However, after praying to Sirani the curse is broken. December is highlighted by numerous sniper attacks from two terrorists groups, one led by Spaniard and the other by Marlene. The Grey Rose rises to the occasion, and battles these groups eventaully leading to the terrorists destruction. The Grey Light, The Grey Rose, the Magic Academy, the Ironhammers, the Titans, the Rangers, the Silver Star Merchants and the School of combat meet in a convention to address various problems in Gobaith, the first time there is large scale cooperation in Gobaith.
Culture: Neon Rift and the Grey Light decide to cooperate to design a library. In April both the Fluffy Sheep Bar and the Library open. Kyuushiki creates the first Poet and Singer contest in the city. Kjallja and Tinari celebrate the first marriage in Troll's Bane May 9th of the first year. Numerous magazines and newspapers are created, yet they are not lasting. The first large festival is held and there is very little conflict at this event. However, it is later learned that this is where the Lich was able to curse everyone in the city. In addition, numerous games such as Fish Pong are created however through the months these games lose interest and a new game is created.
In Summary:
The first year was marked by new guilds and new services in the city of Troll’s Bane. Various threats were encountered, and the great town answered these threats through intelligence, courage and cooperation. It is clear that the Gods wish to intervene in the land of Gobaith. Near the end of the year, cooperation between numerous guilds is seen. This creation of island hegemony may be a reason for the terrorist attacks of this time.
Culturally there are numerous contests and celebrations, yet nothing long-standing. We see the development of numerous forms of culture: from various games, to text, to contests. However, none of these are permanent facets of society. Perhaps the most symbolic representation of Troll’s Bane culture in Year 1 is the Fluffy Sheep Tavern and the Library, which still stand today as a reminder of early culture.

Shi Long duels with Lord Dark Sunrise, this conflict attracts Trolls Bane’s attention and many citizens support Shi Long. The School of Combat switches their leadership. Citizens find a mana well that causes numerous problems such as a red-worm infestation. On April 19th the Magic Academy closes so Dyluck can find a way to seal the mana well. On April 23rd SilentSlayer creates the Azule Empire and attempts to take over Gobaith. A new magic academy forms through Astral, it closes soon after. The Grey Rose engages in a war with Darlok. On December 8th there is a revolt and racial discrimination due to an illness that started from the elves. On December 26th Moy’ve is thrown in jail for arson, yet escapes due to a demon attack. On December 29th speaking demons appear, yet they are defeated.
Cultural: On January 31st there is an attempt to create a newspaper, yet it fails. On April 2nd there is the first recorded divorce between Sir Siruis and Angaria, however this may be a misreporting and it may have simply been a cancelled wedding. The first report of suicide was on May 26th, the life lost was that of Ishan Irnaron who did so because of love. The Rangers put on a second concert in August. The first Illarion Lottery was formed; the entry fee was 25 gold and Mannelig got 1575 gold as the jackpot. The Mega Harvest game is developed. The year closed out on a high note when the first librarian, Jeron Giandor, was employed.
In Summary: The previous cooperation that was seen in the last year slowly disintegrates as more destabilizing guilds and organizations come into play. Education is hard to come by as numerous academies during this time are either closed or changing leadership. There is an increase of criminal behavior yet also an increase in vigilante groups. Much time is spent this year rebuilding what arsonists have destroyed. We see numerous assaults by the Lich Drakjen Vorkalion and his Demon. There is much chaos during this time.
Culturally, there was a myriad of different negative events. Divorce and suicide were reported, while arson destroyed the pub and library for many days. There were few festivities however they did occur. We see a development of traditions occurring during this year with the King of the Roof Tournament. Governmental offices are created to help run the town more efficiently.

On May 13th gloomy figures fraud citizens when they imitate tax collectors. On may 18th the construction for the wall begins, and many view this as a sign of a totalitarian regime. On May 20th there is the first recorded lawsuit against the city for building the walls. This is the first time the judicial system is exercised by the people. On may 24th power it attempting to be put back into the hands of the citizens when there is talk for creation of an independent representative for unregistered citizens of Troll’s Bane. There is no hearing. On May 29th adversaries of Lyrenzia discuss their evil deeds, however no strong arguments are made. On May 31st the Lyrenzia Foundation decrees that as a punishment they can not exile someone, rather they can only jail someone. Cultural: After a large auction the citizens want an Auction house constructed. This starts a flurry of auctions in Troll’s Bane. Near mid-January the elf Freaper hosts a fashion show, the first event of this type. On January 22nd the citizens wish to create an inn and on the 27th the first inn is created by Fieps who names it the Seahorse. This inn was run out of his house. On January 27th Paul Laffing creates a shop for tailored goods, showing that there was a want for expensive clothing. On February 8th the Festival of Life is held and it shows that the people believed in the sanctity of life. On August 2nd Elvin Shaeron creates a Newspaper, and following the trend of previous newspapers by August 9th the last issue is released. On August 200th Draakon and Belegi hold their second dance contest, which the citizens enjoyed. On September 23rd Rustas planned to have a race, however not enough referees could be found. On November 10th the Circle of Scribes is also created, which translated texts between the old and new languages. Throughout this year there is also a number of marriages and divorces.
In Summary: The most symbolic even in Year 3 is the creation of assemblies which contain numerous guild leaders. These groups aim, and often do, to destroy evil forces on the island, however there hegemonic power is clearly seen as tyrannical by many citizens. The Lyrenzia Foundation represented the highest authority of the island, one which could not be stopped. We see numerous uprisings against the Foundation and numerous people attempting to put power back into the citizen’s hands, however these mostly fail. This seems to be the start of the constant battles between the Orcs and Civilization, as we see numerous attacks from the orcs. The last of these attacks occurs when the Lich King’s Demon, Ashkatuul attacks with The Horde. While Year 3 puts power in central hands it is also clear that many people wish to decentralize this power, and put it back into the hands of the people.
Culturally, there is a myriad of events that show that spirit is returning to Troll’s Bane. New ideas and events are created and we see that a few events occur often. Newspaper, as always, remains unpopular. Games are played, poets are written and culture flourishes throughout Troll’s Bane during Year 3.
