I keep getting kicked when I attempt to open the bag on my shoulder. I initially got kicked when the bag reached it's fullest point, and since then I have been unable to open it.
Any suggestions?

Sell something out of your bag if you re able to remember whats inside,,
Its a well known Bug...if the bag is full filled then this will happen..

As Triton said - sell something out of it.
If you don't remember the content, you have to throw it away.
A bag can't keep more than 100 items.

To explain more clearly.
While I bag theoretically can fill up all the slots, it can really only handle 100 items client-wise. Therefore when you open a bag with more than that, the client hits a bug and crashes.
Therefore you need a way of removing some of the items there. Since you can't open the bag you can't just drag them out. However vendors will take stuff from your bag if you sell it to them. So sell one or two things from your bag, and when you have less than 100 it'll open.
This commonly happens to druids - if I remember correctly greenbriar or the halfling buy the hospital buy herbs. Not sure though.

And if your bag is full of items you cannot sell, send me a message and tell me what you don't need from the bag. But please first try to solve the problem as recommended above.

Yes, the hospital in Trolls Bane and the halfling near the fields in Greenbriar will buy herbs.

For future reference, do coins count as items? Do items stacked count as numerous items too? Or does the bug hit when you have over 100 tiles with something in them?

One item stack counts as one item, so...
