I was sure there was a way to name leather bags, but I can't find where on the site it says anything about it. Is it still possible?

The command is !bag xxxxxxxxxx. Just replace x with any letter, no numbers sadly.

And shift click or ctrl click the bag in question?

Put it on the ground, then shift + click.

Is there a character restriction as to how long the name can be?

You can test it out.. it will only use a certain number of letters. I think 6-8 but not sure. You can also name without placing on the ground, leave in bag/belt, this will prevent those rare quick rot cycle times when you could loose your bag.

Yes, it's up to ten letters.

Ctrl click is for attacking creatures, ctrl clicking items does nothing at all.

wait, in relation to the proposal on auto picking up items...couldn't the command be Cntrl Click? Theres a function that could be used?

We're trying to get rid of those commands and integrate them into the client to make it easier to use.

The bag resists the holy damage (item type : mundane).
The bag freezes to death.
The bag is crushed to death.
The bag is blown to death.
The bag is burned to death.
The bag is cut to death.
An elemental is summoned and crushes the remainders of the bag for 75678.12 points of lethal damage.
The bag is pwned to death.
The bag takes a total of 9999999999999.99 damage, its new status is "vaporized".
You: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooes !"
You breaks down to his/her knees and starts sobbing helplessly.
