why the secrecy regarding the VBU?

There is no secrecy.

They just don't know when it's going to be released.

And because they're changing so much, that they don't want to announce something and then it ends up not coming up, and people start whining about shit they don't like, etc.

Everyone always whines like little school girls whenever an update is out because they don't like something or something makes their character weaker or something, it demotivates developers and we already don't have lots of developers, so risking to demotivate them before the updates are even out is a no-no.

Also, they're working against you, and want to minimize your opportunity to defend yourself before it is too late!

I've seen loads of these types of topics. If a dev was to answer them all then the vbu would be coming out in 2110. Give the lads a break and stop whining

I confirm the bold statements, I distance myself from the others!

They're taking their time, so it does not become a very bad update.
So either take a few months more of patience, or help with some of the workload meanwhile.

Think of it as an extra late/early christmas present
