Graphics for Illarion

Hello everyone,
again I'd like to open a post to ask those who are skilled in creating 3D graphics for help to support Illarion.
We are currently lacking of any graphic developer at all (since martin is temporary not available) and there are dozens of graphics needed to improve Illarion.
The graphics that are visible in the game yet are created with Autodesk 3D Studio Max and Autodesk Maja.
But I suppose every other 3D modeling application would work too.
In case you have the required abilities in creating those graphics and feel like supporting Illarion in this way, feel free to contact me or any other staff member.
Nitram
Edit:
Instructions on how to create graphics can be found on the homepage if you follow this link:

Could you give more details about the "3D graphics" you need, please?
(N)PC-models?
Objects?
Animations?
Special Graphical Effects?

It's called Maya btw, not Maja.
And I'm able to use it and it would be great practice for me as long as I'm given specific tasks.. "Do this, do that". Just give me a test, I'll see if I can do it and if I'm good enough. I only just started learning.

I have limited skill in Blender. I can model and texture...just no animation.

All of them (and maybe more). I am pretty sure if you contact Nitram, he can give you a concrete task, like e.g. "create a 3D model of a giant flying snake that breathes fire, movement animations of 8 frames into 8 directions, final graphics should have these and those dimensions, this and that anti-alias-stuff,... All has to fit the style of Illarion!". But I think you better clear up such things in a dialogue.

NPC graphics are needed. But those are better done once martin returned. He wrote himself such a script that throws out dozens of graphics per minute fitting all the requirements of Illarion. That is work you do not want to do per hand.
For all other stuff, items are needed mainly. Wall sets, furniture (did you notice that we do not even have a wardrobe?), and many more. But the main work is surely items. Must of them are static, a few are maybe animated.
I still need to get the exact settings of camera and light to fit the requirements of Illarion.

Items...are there better beds yet?
THe ones i found in the Map-Editor are kinda...unfitting...
And may i mention a palisade? WIth corners, walls, maybe even gate parts? (Just higher, no need to lock it up *g*) Would be awesome at the goblins or bandits...or Nordmark *g*
*hides cause of mighty Nitram beating him cause he hasnt offered to help*

Can we have a list (and specifications perhaps when martin returns)?
Perhaps in the way the npc emotes etc. were carried out, on a sticky?

As far as I know, walls are very easy. I'll just find and/or take pictures of free textures which I'll apply to rectangles. UNLESS you really want massive high details, every brick by itself, etc.. I can do that too but I find it to be a waste of time since Illarion won't actually have any real first person 3D view etc.. I'll do an example now.

Do you really want any other llamas running around, Hadrian?

*looks at his forum rank*
*looks back at the question*
Well.
Yes I would. I would like the fact that illarion recognises the llama's importance in making a game complete, and enjoyable.
However they must have the health of a demon and drop nothing. So nobody will bother killing them.

Llamas will be the new mules!!
With autoemotes: "Hadrian is awesome"

Just to show I'm serious, wooden palisades/fortress walls anyone?
P.S: as I said, I'm still taking 3D classes, this year too. So I'm not very good still but will improve. Also I'm not sure what to export the files to etc.. so Nitram needs to tell me all that jazz.

Yeah, and gets some textures on there. Looks good!

Arvenor, obviously I was gonna get textures.
There, that's the work of 20ish minutes.
As I said, I'm not great yet, but I'm learning fast. So yeah. Good enough Mr. Nitram?

Looks great to me. Almost too nice

Kinda reminds me of Rome: Total War graphics.

Although I can't say what the VBU will make things look like, I worry that may be too realistic for the game! Ah well, it looks really good!

No don't! He just wants them for Nordmark! Keep them, keep them!

And spear a Elfs head on it!!!
Honestly, I propose both. So you are able to build them in two levels one upon the other. And creating a little tower at the edges.

In case any of you budding artists need ideas:
-Wooden walls (made of horizontal boards)
-Plants (Preferably desert ones, so a cactus would be nice)
-Roof items (such as the ones we have now, but of a different material perhaps)
Addition: Roofs made of straw
-Dunes (for in deserts)
-Wall items for grassy hills and earthy underground (like the current rockwalls, but of different substance

)
These are just a few ideas. If you are keen on making walls, please keep in mind that we also need doors/gates for them, and we need them from different angles. Perhaps Nitram or another developer could inform you better.

Are we talking multi level dunes? or mere ripples in the sand?

Proper nice looking stairs, and stairs down.
The stairs down look good for dungeons but for the library or a private house.. no

While in the bus, I had an idea for candle-lanterns or oil-lanterns but by that I mean street ones.

something like that, with a pole though and a candle instead of a light lol.
I would be cool if martin could send me the files for the wooden planks, textures, etc... so I can keep the same textures as the current existing items in illarion.

Karl, can you please make ice walls, vine walls, hedge walls, ocean floor, vine floor, and blueish sheen sea cave walls?
It would help to have different themes for making dungeons. Right now we just have dark, lava and cave.
Brown caves would be cool too. And white pillars and that sort of "clean" architecture. Maybe like a reskinned version of those as well that are like "dark" walls... like.. Black and White temple styles where you have really evil looking places and really benevolent looking places.

Relatively rough preview of the palisade, still a WIP.
