Why can't we make books portable?

Well I read the thread in the proposal board but I'm not worthy enough to post there, so I'm posting here.
Edit: Is that planned for the VBU?

Sadly you get kicked, if you try to read them

No you don't, try the irundar book.
Edit: Ninja'd twice, that was @Merung.
Although I think the irundar book only works if you read a page then cross the page off, turn your counter up one and read the next page etc. like the olde days.

Its because the book system (technical) sucks big time. That needs a general rework from the scratch. As its works now every moveable book will likely cause errors in that system.

Is it under work for the VBU? For some reason, I can't imagine why a books script would be complicated. Once a book is written, it can't be edited. Can't be that hard now can it?
