Hello,
I think the design you have looks "simple".  and simple is good.  But the thing is, your design doesn't seem to like all resolutions too nicely.  Have you tried to look it at from a 800X600 machine and a 640X480?  not too nice now, do they?  Work on resolution support with CGI or ASP or even PHP.  I think that'd be the main focus of it.  Also, Bror, if you happen to caught this message, your current design doesn't look too good at a 800X600 monitor as well...

Ja ja, das wird doch alles angepasst. Es geht mir nur ums Design, der Inhalt wird komplett übernommen...

Und um die Auflösung usw. kümmer ich mich dann auch. Also stimmt einfach ab, wie ihr das Design findet...

Hmm, your layout version seems to support no languague system until now, and the tree-like menu thing on the left side should stay tree-like like now.
But the layout is not bad.

i think the old layout here is better do read

stone and wood makes an oh-so-rpg'ish feel to it all...
VERY good design...
i almost think its better... no.... not better...
but ALMOST as good as the design on the ironhammer guild page...

your design is one of the better on the net...
i love the graphics... i do alot to the apperance
and the backround do not interfere with the words... thats good...

one word: FANTASTIC!

i have to admit that i like it much more than the "original" illarion-site.
the reason is quite easy: it's better for my eyes. dark blue on black is really horrible to read.
further, your design is rather simple but effective. if i had the choice between these two layouts, i'd take yours. but it's up to bror etc...
